Correction:

Blyleven
Sutton
Perry
Maddux

All four have 3000K and did not lead a league in strikeouts

Year by year leaders: http://www.baseball-almanac.com/pitching/pistrik4.shtml
Total strikeouts: http://www.baseball-almanac.com/pitching/pistrik1.shtml

well, i'm partially wrong and imjoeracer is partially wrong

the question was:

Name the only two members of the 3000 strikeout club to never lead their league in strikeouts.

that's national league and american league, not the major leagues

blyleven led the AL in 85 with 206 Ks

however, i forgot about maddux, so 2 points to billyboy and 1 to rflong

EDIT:

so i think i see the problem

baseballalmanac does not agree with baseball-reference about the 1985 AL strikeout leader

however, i'm going with BR on this one

http://www.baseball-almanac.com/pitching/pistrik4.shtml
http://www.baseball-reference.com/leaders/SO_p_leagues.shtml

scoreboard:

9 - Turnip
6 - packboozie
4 - Jaybee1200
statefan24
2 - 2000ranger
billyboy
rflong
1 - AxlBonBach
imjoeracer

Please except my most sincere apollogies, as I never intended to committ such a dire offence. In future posting, I shall atempt to apply much more sensitivity and consideration of the emotional needs of other postors and thread owners.

Unfortunately it is to late for me to delete my previous post, or I would certainly remove that blemish.

I also comend your swift act of justice, voiding my point. May I suggest that for every attempt made to answer my trivia question, another point be deducted from my total. That is only fair to the other competittors.

Again, please except my unworthy apollogies, as well as further apollogies for future posts that are poorly written enough to offend your tastes.
