I also can't believe Brazil got knocked out. Certainly a tournament for the ages. I like seeing these underdogs do well though.

Just to still say the way to succeed as a soccer team is to create good chances for yourself and limit chances for the other team, US has done that pretty well. Maybe it's just talent over tactics and finishing needs to step up, but I feel like the negative talk is overblown.

There is no reason why Rapinoe was even in the game. She has been terrible all tournament. The penalty is whatever. Great players miss them. But she was supposedly a set piece specialist out there looking like Pulisic hitting grounders into defenders. And a complete nothing offensively. Vlatko is the women's GGG.

I don't care much about woke, but I kind of enjoy rooting against US arrogance and entitlement. It hasn't yet presented a conflict when it comes to the men's squad. Felt similarly when the uninspired pro ballers of the US men's basketball team got taken to school by Puerto Rico at the 2004 Summer Olympics.

USWNT to hire Emma Hayes as next coach. She has phenomanal pedigree she basically built the women's program at Chelsea and turned them into a power, she has won every trophy in English Women's super league but the UEFA Champions League.
