"BAGHDAD (Reuters) - The killing of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi is a "new beginning" for
Iraq, the interior minister said on Friday, but authorities imposed a traffic ban in an apparent effort to prevent al Qaeda reprisal attacks.

The ban in Baghdad and in the town of Baquba, near where U.S. planes killed the most wanted man in Iraq on Wednesday, will last from 11 a.m. (0700 GMT) until 3 p.m., when Iraqis go to mosques for Friday prayers, the Interior Ministry said."

oh shit watch out, we got a 4 hour window of peace!

"Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was alive when U.S. troops reached the mortally wounded terrorist leader after a U.S. bombing raid, a U.S. general said today. "Zarqawi did in fact survive the airstrike," Maj. Gen. William Caldwell, the spokesman for the U.S. military in Baghdad, told reporters today. "

"He said that when the terrorist "attempted to sort of turn away off the stretcher, everybody resecured him back onto the stretcher. ... He died almost immediately thereafter from the wounds he'd received from this airstrike."

"We did in fact see him alive," Caldwell said. "There was some sort of movement he had on the stretcher and he did die a short time later. There was confirmation from the Iraqi police that he was found alive.""

No - just posted what cnn.com had on their front page... forgot the link.

It makes sense why the picture of him doesn't look worse.

^I read a story saying that they misreported that a child was killed. They are now claiming that three men and three women were killed including one of zarqawi's sons and one of his wives.

I also ran across an interesting picture tucked in with Zarqawi killing picks that was captioned as being portions of the bombs used yet one piece was distinctly the casing of a flashbang. TF 145 has been reported to have had eyes on the target so who knows...

It is more or less a task force made up of SFOD-Delta and NSW Dev Gru members that are tasked with hunting the highest priority targets in Iraq. Their name changes from time to time. According to an army times article there was a delta recon and surveillance team that was nearby and had eyes on the house well before and during the bombing. ill try and find the pic that I mentioned earlier.
