not saying he doesn't know what he's talking about, but just b/c he's the best at what he does doesn't mean that he has to do a damned thing aside from whoop asses at tennis.

I would say he is proving him self pretty well this year. This is his first major grass court tournament he is playing. The past 2 years he was hurt or coming off of an injurty at wimbledon.

all i'm saying is that you could have said very similar things about serena williams a few years ago and look at where she is now.

a lot can happen in a very short time in tennis. sampras won seven wimbledons. get back to me when federer has done that. borg won five in a row. navratilova won six in a row.

all i'm saying is it's very early to say federer is one of the best ever. he might very well be at his very peak right now, waiting to go tumbling down. OR the rest of the field could adjust to his game and his dominance may not be as pronounced in the future. it's hard to say.

yea, best ever is definitely pushing it. Although this could be his 4th straight Wimbeldon (8th grand slam) at the age of 24.

BRING BACK WOODEN RACKETS!

Probably needs its own thread...... In the men's game if the serve is actually returned its a miracle. I love to play tennis but its so boring to watch..........unless of course Maria is playing.

That's not true anymore. Maybe back in the days of Sampras and Richard Krajicek’s 49 aces in a match but now you need an all around game like federer. Games are won with as few as 7 aces.

that would be cool to bring them back, but the players would go through like 27 of them in a single match cuz they'd prolly break the strings every few points

I can't stand people that say that shit. They've probably only played tennis twice and the last time they watched was 10 years ago. The wooden tennis racquet argument died years ago.

TURN YOUR FUCKING TV ON AND ACTUALLY WATCH FEDERER PLAY.

It's going to be interesting to see how Nadal does against Federer on grass. If Fed wins, this will set up the grudge match to settle it all at the US Open. If Nadal wins, Federer will probably whack him in the head during the trophy presentation.

that chair umpire is terrible, I wonder if he was doing the match where Venus got screwed a couple yrs back

if nadal beats federer on a wimbledon final, the tennis world is going to spin on its side

I'm not prepared to wrap my head around a clay court specialist winning on a man's surface. So Federer better take care of business for my own mental well-being.

Djoker has gotten better as he's gotten older...but he use to be a real twat. He'll never be a people's champion like Federer (or even Sampras, even though he was a bore)...but he is fucking awesome.

It was great seeing Federer play well in a major again. He had enough to win, just had some ill-time unforced errors and his serve let him down in the last two sets. I'd really like to see him win one more Wimbledon and one more US Open...then call it quits. Don't think he has it in him though...especially if the Djoker keeps killing it.

which made him a super entitled dick, albeit a super talented one

he also used to dribble the ball 20+ times until he was forced to stop. I agree with jbrick, he was a brat but has gotten somewhat more bearable.
