well you're obviously not capable of objectively looking at individual performances then. No big deal...
V I'm not saying he was flawless but he played a hell of a lot better then ANYBODY thought he would.. that's all.

Ok. 7 of Chicago's points were cause he fumbled.
So he personally was +7 (2 TD - 1 TD).10/17/2006 12:20:01 AM |

leinart didn't play badly, but you can't call this his coming out party or a breakout game when the only thing this game will be remembered for is a miserable collapse on behalf of his team, of which he is suppose to be the leader... i know it wasn't all his fault, but they still lost and the manner in which they lost will overshadow his performance... wait to have his coming out party till they beat somebody, or maybe u should just wait till they lose a little less embarrasingly, that might happen sooner 10/17/2006 12:23:00 AM |

I don't like Leinart and I hate defending him but the only reason he fumbled is because his lineman sat there with his thumb up his ass and let Leinart get totally blindsided. 10/17/2006 1:13:21 AM |

if they run to the right on 3rd and 1, they win.
it's pretty simple, run to the middle of the field to set up a field goal, it's not an unheard-of concept.
hell, let the QB go fall down in the middle of the hashmarks, whatever works.

I wanted to see what Cardinals fans would say so I went over to azcentral.com (newspaper) and went to the Cardinals' fanblog, it is hilarious. Most all of them want their tax money back, hate the Bidwells, hate the kicker, hate Dennis Green, but like Leinart. I guess Leinart is the league's next David Carr.
But this is the best quote. Apparently, Theismann said this in the third quarter:
Quote : | "Oh my god. I knew this game was over when it was 23-10 with the cardinals holding the ball and Theisman (announcer) said something to the tune of "I dont even want to hear it, this game is over, if the cardinals lose this game they may as well close the roof, sell the building back to that guy, open a pizza shack, because football is dead in arizona."
I almost died laughing, because the second he finished the sentence, the ball gets wrenched out and ran back for a touchdown.
The cardinals always find a way to lose, always. " |
Here's another good one.
Quote : | "Before the season, the Republic had an article about the new season and the new stadium.
And some f'in loudmouth Cardinals front office person was blaming the last 16 years of mediocrity on Sun Devil Stadium.
It was all, "oh, we had to play in the heat! we had to play the first six games of the season on the road! we had to play in front of 30,000 people and 2/3 of them were rooting for the other team! we didn't have luxury skyboxes so we could hire great free agents!"
And I thought to myself, wow that's a load of bull. The problem is the franchise. Sun Devil Stadium never stopped the Sun Devils from being a good team and sometimes a great team.
Well, look where we are now. 1 and 5, and the Cards nearly gave away the one win just like they did give it away tonight.
I am going to go back into back issues of the Republic and find out who said that. That person should be run out of town on a freakin' rail along with Edgerrin James and the offensive coordinator and Denny freakin' Green. I am not a huge football expert but even I knew that giving the ball to Edgerrin James was idiotic when he was getting STUFFED every... freakin....time.
The Cards gave up a 20 point lead in the fourth quarter and the Bears DID NOT SCORE A SINGLE OFFENSIVE TOUCHDOWN! Can it get any more pathetic than that?
The only guys who earned their paychecks were Leinart and Boldin.
Edgerrin James set a record tonight... he carried 36 times for 56 yards... first guy in NFL history to carry that many times for that few yards.
You know what's going to happen don't you? Leinart is going to put in three or four years here and then sign with a REAL franchise and take them to the Super Bowl. How many times has THAT happened with other star players the Cardinals have had????
PATHETIC. University of Phoenix should ask for a refund. Who would want to be associated with such losers????" |

^^ Completely ignoring that fumble that started the Bears comeback at the end of the 3rd then? Sure your lineman has to block, but he's got to hold onto the ball. 10/18/2006 9:18:54 PM |

thats crazy, if you can say that then you haffta say the turnover for a touchdown by Leinart was his fault as well. Urlacher had an insane amount of tackles, him having 19 tackles to go along with everything else he did would have been like Leinart throwing for 500 yards... and oh yeah, his team won 10/19/2006 1:17:01 PM |

let's look at matt's numbers, shall we?
24/42 (57.1%)... meh. 232yds... not bad. 2 td... not bad. long of 26... meh. avg of 5.5... pssh. 88.6 rating... not bad. 13 points off 6 turnovers... boo! fumble recovered by chicago for a td... boo!
his 2 tds came in the first quarter. you gotta finish, matthew. the worst stat is that he was only able to manage just 13 points off 6 turnovers. 6 TURNOVERS. that's shitty as fuck. the offensive coordinator is to blame also, but the qb is just as much at fault. you gotta find your guys on the field, and orchestrate drives. why, oh why, are people saying this is his coming out game? if i were him, i wouldn't want this to go down in my pro career as my "coming out". 10/19/2006 2:43:35 PM |
