So, who exactly was it that decided to succeed and what specific right were they succeeding over? I mean, you do realize there was a specific state's right in the mix here, right?

And the poor farmers didn't decided to wage the war, they went along to protect their home and fight for what was familiar.

This is similar to when a Marxist guerilla army fights. You think they give two shits about Marxism? No, they're protecting their home. Now the deciders, the descision-makers, they were Marxists.

Just as the deciders in the South were pro-state's rights...to hold slaves, among other things. Now, what other right caused the fire storm? there had to be something that started it all, no?

Was slavery on the way out? Well, it would have been eventually. The economic sanctions that would have occured against such an immoral, reprehensible act by all other nations would have crushed the South's economy.

In this case, monopolies did equal cheaper.

Think about the Boston Tea Party. The tea that was thrown overboard was actually cheaper and superior.

I've read that it would have abolished slavery by the 1880s, joined the Entente w/ Britain and France, causing the US to side w/ Germany, and thus tiliting the war to the Alliance, making Germany the power of Europe and the controller of Belgium and the border lands w/ France by treaty. even then, it would have been an international paraiah, like Rhodesia or South Africa, until probably the 70s or 80s, even w/o slavery, since there would have been no strong central gov. to step in and end Jim Crow.

Either that, or the US would have reconquered it later on since it was so hard for them to field a national army twice, what with so many states clamoring for control and state's rights. the army would have been disunited and underfunded, and thus overwhelmed by the US, probably around the time of the Spanish-American War.
