What a great game. CC has, for him, an off night walking six yet none of those runs scored and we just lit up Wang who was leaving the ball up in the zone.

Carmona v Pettite is going to be a battle. Fausto's been lights out this past month and our O is on fire. Hopefully we can get ahead early and force Torre to have to press again.

I have a feeling that Carmona is gonna have a good game tonight. As long as the crowd is as good as they were last night I think he's going to feed off of them.


This is gonna be a HUGE game for us because I dont have much confidence in Westbrook or Byrd pitching in New York, so as long as we jump out to a 2-0 series lead I will feel a TON better about making the trip up north

thank god for that, but if i'm joe torre i'm tellin the guy that the bugs cant cause you to lose focus. the batter has to hit with the very same distraction.

the energy he brings along with his experience is exactly what our club needs.

before the series began i really was hoping that we would put out this lineup:

well I didnt expect anything less from Westbrook. I really dont know why we put him on the mound, his stuff really isnt good - and never has been. I guess Shapiro thought that Jake should earn that big paycheck he got last offseason.

oh well, cant say I'm too excited about Byrd pitching tonight, but he is an improvement over Westbrook, even though he isnt exactly a flamethrower either.

this is exactly why I knew it was important for us to win the first 2 games at home with Sabathia and Carmona on the mound, Westbrook and Byrd are average MLB pitchers at best.

here's to our offense building an insurmountable lead early tonight!

CC wasnt himself last night. He wasnt attacking the zone with his fastball. I figure out exactly why because he's been so big for us this year. He had manny in an 0-2 count twice and walked him. That's not the CC from the regular season.

Fausto has the biggest start of his young career tonight and we get to finally see if he exercised the demons from "the fenway experiment" we tried with him last year. We need a ton of ground ball outs and turn some of those into double plays.

I'll go back to cleveland happy with a split

what a great game it was, up until the 11th inning.

thoughts:

-Fausto looked alright, it wasnt the outing I was hoping for as he threw a ton of pitches
-Manny and Ortiz scare me
-I'm a little worried about Rafael Perez, he's usually lights out when he comes into a game
-The fans at Fenway have been pretty subdued through the first two games of the series, I know the fans will be raucous back at the Jake

Well, in retrospect, after not making the playoffs last year, it was an enjoyable season that ended horribly in 2007. You can bitch about tonight all you want, and it was a winnable game, but when your two "ace" pitchers get mauled in 3 of their 4 appearances, it's going to be hard to win a series.
CC may have cost himself a few million dollars with his shitty post season performance. Fausto was epic in the game 2 win against the yanks but reminded me of rick ankiel in the ALCS. Enough of the retread free agents like Dellucci, Nixon and Lofton (although Lofton worked out well in the postseason).

This offseason, in addition to resigning CC, Dolan/Shapiro has to step up to the plate and get us a meaningful OF bat. Also, it would be nice for Hafner to grow a pair again.

Of course, I'm trying to sound rational here, but in reality, I may just not leave my room for the next month. Being a Cleveland fan sucks

It was an epic series between the two best teams in baseball.

last night I looked over at my fiance right when Skinner held Lofton at 3rd base (instead of sending him home to probably score) and said that I would bet anything that I own that the indians would lose the game. Thats one of those momentum killing moves. Would we have won if Lofton did score? Probably not, but I think that call (along with the succeeding double play) totally deflated the team. Thats the only regret I have about this game/postseason.

^ you could just feel the wind come out of our sails at that point. I was screaming because I felt so sure we tied the game that I didnt even look to see kenny was held at 3rd. I think I would deal with it better if we got crushed 4 games to 1 instead of getting up 3-1 and just hitting the rut. that sucks.
