You know it is pretty damn bad when most people here in NC want a hurricane to hit here just so we can get some damn rain. 8/21/2007 10:05:49 AM |

i'm in mexico city right now and will be here when the hurricane gets here - people here aren't worried though because of the elevation of the city - the mexicans i'm working with laughed when i told them i was a bit worried it was coming right at us - they say the winds might be 35mph by the time it gets here with some light showers 8/21/2007 10:46:28 AM |

Is there any chance of the storm (what remains of it) to emerge in the pacific like that storm did a few years back? 8/23/2007 12:46:06 AM |

hurricane hunters supposedly found 200mph 300 ft from the surface, they had to abort....and will not be back until 2am, he will probably weaken(if you want to call it that) a bit by then, or level off or go down some(they dont maintain it that long) so we might never know how strong he truely was at his peak. 9/2/2007 8:32:11 PM |

That link takes you to an animation of zonal shear from 850-200 mb. In fact, the moe.met.fsu.edu/tcgengifs is where I'm getting my info, as well as others I can't let out. It's fairly nifty, though. 9/6/2007 9:06:20 AM |

high pressure is supposed to move in within 24 hours and stop the shear for the most part, and possibly steer it toward us. 9/6/2007 10:12:55 AM |
