I considered re-watching the season On Demand to see if I'd "get it" the second time around but I decided against the idea. Theres no reason to waste anymore of my time.

bah

this is fucking ridiculous. i've had it with new series. i think i need to just not watch anything that is new and then after a show makes it to a 2nd or 3rd season i can start watching it then, confident that it won't get canceled before shit has a chance to develop.

If in your first season, you only manage to piss of the few fans you have left by the end of the season, and you fail to answer any of the MANY questions you bring up during that said first season, and the entire audience is sitting there going "WHAT THE FUCK" the entire first season and you still dont answer ANY of the mysteries, then you do NOT deserve a 2nd season. Plain and simple.

13 one (real) hour episodes is more than enough time for a good show to get its "sea legs"

[Edited on August 16, 2007 at 1:09 AM. Reason : 13 HBO episodes = 17 network TV episodes]

wow. I cant believe this shit. Just watched it on the DVR and I didnt see the revalation.

I think a second season maybe could have saved this show if they drastically changed their approach, but they pissed off too many HBO subscribers already....

Let's see. Horrible acting. Archaic, confusing dialog. Bitter, miserable, unlikable characters. A storyline that is hard to follow, at best. The ending that was supposed to reveal everything did nothing but create more questions. Need I go on? Yeah, you're right, we're the insane ones here.

I don't mind a story that requires a little thinking, but watching this show was like trying to put together a puzzle when half the pieces weren't even included in the box. Everyone gets their own opinion, but you're going to have to do more than call everyone insane before you convince me the show wasn't complete trash.

you really don't think the characters are likeable?? i think it's so easy to identify with them all, i love the storyline, it's complex, multi-layered, philosophical, spiritual, and allows you to ponder significant questions and events in life. i mean maybe you guys should watch the brief documentary clips then watch the season again. this is definetly one of my fave tv shows ever.

youre right, it's really easy to identify with a pornstar, heroin addict, guy who talks to birds, annoying woman who jacked off her son, gay landlord, and a surfer kid who can't act

^i think the point might be that no one is perfect, and although we all make mistakes, me can all be redeamed, and no matter what has happened in our lives, every moment is another chance to change the direction of your life. sometimes things are going really well, sometimes it seems like the world is closing in on you, but life is going to have crests and troughs just like waves, and you just have to enjoy the ride and do the best you can.
