hell, clemson goes after pretty much every game. So who chokes next weekend? Both Clempson(5-2) and the Beagles(4-2) have 2 losses. The game next weekend guarantees the winner a spot in the championship game. And UVA and VT play for the Coastal Division the following week. 11/10/2007 11:47:40 PM |
stixman All American 3608 Posts user info edit post |
personally, I hope the Beagles win and then lose their last ACC game and State wins their last two. It would put us all at 5-3, and yes I know we wouldn't make the champ. game, but it would be pretty awesome, after the start of this year to end up tied (record wise) for the division lead. 11/11/2007 12:04:09 AM |

I meant if kansas doesnt lose they will make the title game so until then leave a spot for them. If kansas finishes undefeated including beating a #3 oklahoma in the title game and they dont make the BCS title game that will be the end of the BCS, there would be nothing they could say to explain it 11/11/2007 7:07:58 PM |

^Oregon and LSU both play way harder schedules than tOSU this year. they even broke it down on Gameday yesterday. LSU and Oregon play the 12th and 13th hardest schedules, while tOSU plays the 63rd toughest schedule, so I don't think when they lost would have factored as much as you think, if LSU, tOSU, and Oregon run the table.
Quote : | "sounds like what people were saying about Auburn a few years ago, where did that get us?" |
well the difference was that we had three undefeated teams that year, Oklahoma, USC, and Auburn. everyone gave Oklahoma the benefit of the doubt b/c the media had been sucking them off for the past few years. they thought OU would eventually break through. they had won the 2000 National Championship (2001 Orange Bowl man that was an ugly game) and had made it to the previous years National Championship game (2004 Sugar Bowl). in reality Oklahoma shouldn't have even made it to the 2004 Sugar Bowl, since they didn't even win their conference (stupid computers). it should have been USC, who was #1 in the AP Poll, but #3 in the BCS that year. Auburn was kind of shafted since I'm positive they could have performed much better against USC than OU's 55-19 performance, but I really don't think even Auburn could have beat the Trojans that year. They were that good. Despite being outstanding again the next year, they lost too much on defense to close out Texas the next year in the National Championship game.
So while we should have seen Auburn vs. USC in 2005, we more than likely would have had the same result, USC as National Champions. I mean Auburn nearly let Virginia Tech a team that lost to USC come back on them. Virginia Tech performed admirably against USC earlier in the season in VT's own backyard, but you could tell that USC was a cut above in that game.

I think tOSU is one of the Top 10 teams in college football this year, but I'm glad that Illinois beat them, b/c I didn't think they were better than some of the teams immediately below them. I mean Boeckman, one of the most efficient QBs this year, had 3 interceptions in that game. He was definitely off during that game. 11/11/2007 8:40:50 PM |
Dammit100 All American 17605 Posts user info edit post |
I dont think Boeckman is that good anyway. I know he was rated highly in passer efficiency, but he underthrows damn near every deep ball. 11/11/2007 9:08:41 PM |
deerpark101 All American 773 Posts user info edit post |
Boeckman is efficent; he is just a QB who does enough to keep them winning.
I think Boeckman is a senior this year? So he is just a short-term replacement 11/11/2007 9:12:23 PM |
