I'm not trying to argue, I'm just asking for a different perspective on the issue. I definitely see the noose as racist, I just don't find it racist IN ALL SITUATIONS that someone else may see it in. But I do wonder that if I, being a white person, was cleaning that bathroom somewhere like NC A&T, if I would be offended and think that the primarily black staff was directing some sort of threat towards me... And I guess that it would depend on if I had ever had any confrontations with the people who were in that area... I dunno, what would you think in that situation?

I would think that if they were trying to threaten you, you'd know. If they were trying to threaten you with a noose - that would be weird. I mean, yeah, it would be wrong, but really weird.

I would think of it as an ironic approach to threaten someone that you have never talked to, harrassed, confronted, etc. But if you had had hostile arguments with that person in the past, I could totally see it being a legit race related issue.
