I have no idea if they passed it or not, it was in the news right before Christmas.

Also for organic food, there is always the Deep Roots Market, it's on Spring Garden right before the Wendover exit. They are your best bet for organic produce.

Greensboro has gotten better over the years; food, bars, and other forms of entertainment have improved in the last 4 or 5 years. I don't think it could have gotten worse, but with Greensboro you never know.

Yeah, Greensboro was pretty shitty when I was in High School and when I came home for the summer after my Freshman year at NCSU. But you are correct, over the past 4-5 years it has gotten way better. The whole revitalization of downtown has really helped.

Does anybody rent in the Kernersville area? My fiance works in downtown WS and I work in Greensboro so we need to find a place to live in the middle. Cheaper the better so we can save money for a house. Thanks!

I know when I was looking to buy a house in K'Ville the prices were pretty comparable to those in Greensboro. So I would assume that the rentals are the same as well.

did you find a place yet?

As an option you could find a place close to the airport. Since that provides you easy access to 40 and past most of the Greensboro traffic the drive to W-S wouldn't be too bad.

http://www.kernersvillenc.com/shell.php?page=housing

That might help you out. I had a friend live in Madison Place that said they weren't bad.

Good place to watch the game? I was thinking Looneys but the UNC fans will probably be there in droves.

Speakeasy Tavern will be mostly NCSU fans. That is where we all go to watch the games usually. I know all my NCSU boys will be there. I would be there as well, but I am in Mebane tonight.

Looney's is pretty good. There's two sections, front and back. Should be able to get away form the UNC fans

You can also try:
Natty Greene's - good place downtown though
Spring Garden Pizzeria - great food and beer, close to UNCG
J Butler's (New Garden Rd) - Always a crowd and I've seen a few State fans there
Buffalo's (Battleground Ave) - good wings
M'Coul's - can't remember
Stumble Stilskins - always a bunch of Wake fans there.
Legends (Swing Rd) - Never been, drove by it once though

There's also a bar off Guilford College and I-40, down that little side street by the gas station beside the strip club. I can not remember the name of it though.

I already live in Mission Stadler Place which is right near the airport, but rent keeps going up and once we get married we wanted to start "our new life" in a new place. My lease runs up the end of April so right now we are trying to figure out if I should do month to month till the end of August when we get married or try to find someplace before then.

Thanks for the link... didnt even cross my mind to look at Kvilles website.

Month-to-month will be rediculously expensive. If at all possible, I would recommend getting a place together. Even if you only do a 6 month lease to get you through the wedding, it will be cheaper in the long run.

For those of you that don't know my Dad passed away this past September. About 2 years before he died he gave me his Lionfish because it was getting too big for his reef tank and was doing damage to the reef. I have had it ever since, but now he has outgrown my tank. So, I am donating him to the Natural Science Center, and I am taking him over there this morning.

I am going to have them put a plaque on the tank that says "Lionfish donated in loving memory of Rick Stine" (my dad). Please go to the Natural Science Center and check him out sometime, he will be downstairs in their saltwater exhibit.

Yeah, It will probably be packed with both NCSU and WF fans tonight.

They also do $.25 wings on Sundays or Mondays during NFL (i don't remember which), and their wings are actually really good for a little hole-in-the wall bar

Tickets on Sale Day Discount is good for any seat to any game, but only valid for tickets purchased on February 28.
Fans may purchase as many tickets as they want, but the $5 discount is limited to a maximum of 12 games.
As with any individual ticket purchase, there are no refunds or exchanges.
Internet and phone orders will open Monday, March 2 at 9:00am.

This is probably a silly question being that we are in Bumpkinville, NC but are there any clubs in Greensboro that have nights where they play trance/techno music?

^ the roads will be fine right now. There will be some refreeze tonight though, so if you are driving anywhere early tomorrow morning then be careful

and yes, some people lost power. I didn't, but my mom and both of my sisters did. All 3 of them only lost it for a few hours though.

I lost power for about 3 hours this morning down in Asheboro. Roads should be fine until midnight or so. After that if there's anything on them it's gonna be ice.

Pablano's over in Friendly Center is my favorite Mexican Restaurant in Greensboro.

Phoenix Asian is my favorite Chinese restaurant, but they don't deliver. All the delivery Chinese places I have had in the area are pretty much the same.

cool thanks i will try them this week.

yea, most chinese delivery places are pretty much the same...i mean, they all use the same menu. i mean come on, we can't be a LITTLE creative??!!

but i will def try either the mexican or the chinese this week. have you ever eaten at mexico the restaurant? if not, i wouldn't recommend doing so.

China Garden Cafe on Spring Garden is pretty good. There's a Chinese place at the corner of Holden Rd and Vandalia Rd by the Food Lion that is also good. Both places deliver. The food is about the same, but they use different seasoning and or ingredients in a few dishes.

As far as Mexican there's a few places that are decent. The restaurant on Tate St by UNCG is good it's called El Carreton. It's above where NY Pizza is at. There's also a Chinese place there, but the food is hit and miss in the Chinese place. On Battleground there's a couple of places. Casa Vallarta is pretty good and cheap. The place that used to be Wholly Guacamole is also pretty good, better imo. It's called Poblano's Mexican Bar and Grill now. Mi Pueblo's is pretty good. I think it's on High Point R. Just can't remember where though.

^ I think that place that used to be Wholly Guacomole is another Poblano's now

and yeah, Casa Vallarta is pretty good, but I wouldn't consider it cheap when it comes to Mexican. If you want good CHEAP mexican, go down Battleground a bit to Monterrey. For the price, you can't beat it.

Poblano's on HP road is pretty damn good. As far as Chinese food; Full Kee in High Point. Its the same owner as the famous Full Kee in Washington, D.C. Its a little more upscale but its excellent!
