^Agreed. No real cliff hanger or anything. Good episode though.

i don't think it was that great of an episode. it felt like they had new writers or something. it didn't have that same dexter edge or whatever. 12/15/2008 8:57:02 AM |

i gotta admit, he got out of the skinner's warehouse entirely too easy. it was like, OMG THE SKINNER GOT HIM, and almost immediately it was OMG HE GOT AWAY. almost like that scene wasn't needed at all - they just threw it in there to make sure the skinner was killed to wrap up his storyline. and the fact that it was dexter's wedding day when all this happened and he still came away without a scratch on him (aside from a broken hand) just seemed silly.
what are your takes on the last scene, when they're dancing and blood drips out of his cast and stains her wedding dress? something tells me it's some kind of weird foreshadowing that maybe they lose the baby? because honestly, i don't see them incorporating a baby into this story fulltime if they want to keep the whole 'serial killer dexter' story going. he's going to be too busy with work and taking care of aster/cody/baby to even think about sneaking away to kill someone. 12/15/2008 9:24:16 AM |

yeah that was odd. i didn't know what to make of that really. did dexter cast his arm himself or did he go to the ER? his hand is bleeding b/c the skinner cut him right? so i guess the skinner is really totally gone from next season b/c they'll have to address that. i dunno.... 12/15/2008 9:59:11 AM |

The skinner is dead, so unless they plan to incorporate zombies into the show, I doubt he'll be making an appearance next season. 12/15/2008 10:33:33 AM |

I don't really get why he ran after killing the skinner. It wouldn't have looked bad at all, hell, the skinner supposedly killed Prado so it isn't a leap to think he would start killing anyone associated with him or the case to try and find out what they know about Frebo(sp). 12/15/2008 11:00:02 AM |

maybe he was just so eager to get to his wedding that he didnt want to waste time with the 5-0. 12/15/2008 11:09:06 AM |

yeah, i think he just didn't want to get all tangled up in the whole situation.
Plus, it would have undercut Deb's discovery. Last thing she needs is to make a huge break on the case, only to find that her genius brother figured it out hours before her 12/15/2008 11:29:31 AM |

yeah, but even if he hung around, I doubt he would say "oh, hey, the skinner just kidnapped me. .... why? uhhh.... i don't know. i guess he just liked my skin"
he would have had to play it as if he had found the skinner on his own 12/15/2008 12:30:39 PM |

I would have liked to seen Deb make some kind of headway with who her dad was sleeping with, because then we'd have something to look forward to next season. Figuring out which CI he was sleeping with would obviously lead her to the discovery that he was sleeping with Dexter's real mom, and that Dexter's real mom is also the Ice Truck Killer's mom...and that's huge.
Also, yes - Dexter was bleeding from the cut on his arm that he got from the Skinner. I still think it's some kind of foreshadowing, since he bled on her white wedding dress, almost like he's tainting it. Who knows. 12/15/2008 12:53:03 PM |

i didn't say or mean that the skinner was coming back. well first i meant isn't, not is. but anyway...yeah if it's still bleeding then maybe they'll bring him up again. i don't know.12/15/2008 1:57:16 PM |

meh. i thought the finale was sort of weak sauce. definitely let down. i thought the whole season was going to end up better than the second because i was liking where the direction it was taking, but it didn't keep its momentum. weak finale imo, whereas last season's finale was pretty good.

the first thing I thought was the blood against the white dress was so obvious that it could mean there is blood left at the scene where he killed the skinner, which links him to the scene and there would be a fallout from it next season
but now that I think about it, so what if his blood is found and they question him? all he has to say is, "oh yeah, I was kidnapped and I escaped and killed him... but I wanted to get to my wedding on time" I mean, other than it being kind of weird that he would bounce so quick like that... it's not anything to make a storyline out of
hopefully the blood on her dress foreshadows her and her kids dying.. I think this show is done once he has a kid 12/16/2008 7:02:37 PM |

I think it is probably done once Rita is gone too. She is the human element of Dexter. Without her and Deb, there's not really anything to keep him from not resembling anything human at all. 12/16/2008 7:09:11 PM |

i think it'll get more interesting once he's married. I'm curious how he is going to get out of the house and what excuses he'll make up. I'm expecting a difficult marriage. 12/16/2008 7:21:05 PM |

i agree i think the blood on the wedding dress foreshadows rita losing the baby. i dont see how they can keep the edge in the show with a newborn in the house.
also there was a little hint at the end about the ci their dad was sleeping with (dex's mom) they showed the files on deb's desk and zoomed in on dex's mom so i think she's definitely going to find some stuff out.
i wonder how close deb will get to finding out that dex and the ice truck killer are brothers, maybe dex will act surprised if confronted with the finding. i wonder if deb will find out who dex really is in the final season. 12/21/2008 1:01:48 PM |

I'm sure in the end Deb will be the one to bust Dexter. But as for the baby, I think there is absolutely no chance that it doesn't live. The whole point of the show is seeing how a serial killer lives as a normal person. They aren't going to take away one of the major human connections he has. 12/21/2008 2:02:22 PM |

Finally finished Season 2. I'll be starting Season 3 shortly, but it will take me awhile to finish. The girl and I wait for each other to watch new episodes (watched all of them together) so I've been good about not cheating and getting ahead
Anywho, season 1 was definitely better, but season 2 certainly had its bright spots and I really liked it. It started off solid, and kind of dipped in the middle for me with a lot of the Lila stuff getting kind of dragged out I felt like. But it really picked back up again towards the end and got pretty exciting. Looking forward to season 3 even though I know a lot of people have said it wasn't as good as the first 2 I think. Really excited to get started though...I am extremely hard to please when it comes to TV shows and this has me hooked.
Also, as I am sure others have stated (I havent read this thread really yet to avoid spoilers), with as awesome as this has been, I hope the show ends before it gets too ridiculous. It has been such a great show with solid writing/storyline, a great cast, and I just love the mood of the show (the way its shot, the music, etc.) and I'd hate to see it slowly get worse and worse. 1/5/2009 4:43:36 PM |
