right, if he doesn't get drafted this year he probably won't next year either. he grew up in europe and i'm sure has no qualms playing in europe. once he's graduated (which he is reportedly on schedule to do), might as well go make money while he's young. at least that's the speculation.

john wall was playing to the crowd, but cj leslie is a state commit as i'm sure you're aware.10/19/2008 10:41:03 PM |

Yeah, sorry. I meant to split them up in their Wolfpack sign givage. I noticed Favors left a lot earlier than the other guys. Anything to read into this, or just happened that way? 10/19/2008 11:30:58 PM |

Geez, lack of sleep ftl.
In my other post, I meant to say that I was more impressed with CJ Williams than Julius Mays. Not that anyone cares, just had to clear that up.
^more people were there than I expected. When I pulled up by the parking garage, I saw tons of cars and people walking everywhere around Reynolds and got really excited about the turnout. Then I realized it was also open house weekend. 10/20/2008 5:42:47 AM |

there were more than 1000 people. considering what it was, how last second it was thrown together and how there was basically ZERO done to advertise it, I thought the turnout was good. I would guess 2000 or so.10/20/2008 10:20:13 AM |

form what i posted in the other thread
____________________________________________
from what i read this morning, Wall was at NCSU thursday night, friday, saturday and was playing hoops with CJ Leslie on campus on Sunday.
Wall said that he had a great visit and really enjoyed how much love all the fans were giving them with the chants and cheers.
so great job fans that were there cheering them on.
Favors also had a nice visit but should know more in the next day or so.
I know that he and Wall go to hang out a lot and both of them chatted it up about how fun it would be to play together.
unfortunately, MemPISS is recruiting them both also 10/20/2008 10:32:58 AM |

Verbal commitments are just that - a word of promise made between the player and the coach. No letter of intent unless i've missed something. care to add something / anything to this thread simon instead of usual utterly useless garbage? 10/20/2008 11:17:55 AM |

wall may push his decision off till the spring in order to take all of his OVs.
i'm thinking our season (and, mainly, our offensive style this year) determines if we get him or not, esp. if he's going to wait till the spring. we don't have to be world-beaters but we've got to show some signs of life. you can tell he definitely wants to see how we implement this fast-break, run out offense lowe wants to use this year. 10/20/2008 11:24:08 AM |

If that's the case, then he needs to quit acting like a little bitch when he doesn't get his way. I never did see anything on here about how he went Steve Smith on one of his teammates like 2 months ago.10/20/2008 12:40:33 PM |

Nothing bad to take from that interview but nothing groundbreaking either. Nothing we don't already know, except Favors is hard to understand. I have no idea what the first part of his response was in reply to "Why would you want to go to a school like State?" But he did say that seeing JJ come here and get to the NBA had an impression on him. Let that be heard by all the people that claim one and done players are bad for a program. 10/20/2008 8:37:23 PM |

I really like John Wall's response to our fan base. I think he just about gets it - gets that by staying in Raleigh and going to NC State, he can really do something special for our fanbase and community - essentially his community.
Stay Home Wall!
No other fan base would have the same appriciation level for him as we would if he stays in Raleigh.
as for Favors, I give us a 15-20% chance of him committing here, but add another 20-30% if Wall commits here 1st 10/20/2008 9:01:22 PM |

Sidney lowe has only recruited 2 big men, one of them was a first round draft pick, the other is a sophmore and a little undersized for the 4 spot but plays hard....we'll see about him. 10/20/2008 10:22:46 PM |

Just getting these two kids to come visit, much less together, is a huge step in the right direction. I thought Lowe pulled a decent class just with Wood, Howell and Brown. Now he's proving he can recruit with the big boys. Let's hope they finish out the best class to come to State in a long time. 10/20/2008 10:35:04 PM |
Maverick1024 All American 4866 Posts user info edit post |
I'd say a class of Howell, Brown, and Wood is much better than "decent." Most recruiting sites have it in the top 5-10 in the nation.
Adding Wall, Favors, or both to that class would be insane. 10/21/2008 12:28:57 PM |

We'll have Degand, Mays, and Javi at point, in addition to Lorenzo. I think we'd be better off with Favors if we could only take 1, although you don't pass on Wall if it comes to that. 10/21/2008 12:47:15 PM |
