Great game tonight. It really looks like Delgado is going to keep it going from last season.

BTW, Reyes scored from 1st on a wild pitch. LOL Padres.

I didn't know whether I should be impressed by Reyes, or just amazed at how bad the Padres were on that play. Either way, gg Jose.

When are all you guys getting to Citi Field for the first time?

I'm getting tickets to the July 27 and 28 games against the Rockies. Game 1 in the Pepsi Porch and Game 2 in the Caesar's Club. I can't wait!

Is there some reason the Mets never lose in games where you KNOW there is no chance? They always either blow big leads or get behind big and then fall just short coming back.

A very Braves-esque 1-4 in 1 run games.

yeah, i keep chalking it up to it being early, but i still see a lot of glaring problems with this team, most notably who is gonna eat up innings after santana. wright is K'ing down a LOT to start the season as well

Maybe someone other than Santana can mix in an ERA under 7.30 at some point this year?

Florida and Philly are tough, so you have to take advantage and get wins against the Natinals

If the Mets can click and pull it together this week, they will be fine. A sweep of the Marlins will tie them for first place.

I don't like to think sweeps, since its like hitting a 3 game parlay and usually doesn't work out unless you're hitting on all cylinders with a little luck mixed in

Give me 2 out of 3 at home and .500 on the road and I'll be happy

What makes you ^^ think that the Mets are going to all of a sudden pull it together?

Wright looks totally fucking lost right now. Late on low-90s fastballs, can't lay off a breaking ball off the plate to save his life and takes breaking balls right over the plate like it's going out of style.

Ollie's evil twin has taken over, Maine is far from certain, Livan sucks... Pelfrey looked good and Johan is the best in the game, but 60% of the games are complete coin flips at this point.

I posted in the Dodgers thread, her seats in LA are really close to ours. And she is really hot. Pic was at the WBC in March, the only game I have been to this year, haha.

A dissapointing season from the start is more bearable than a great season that ends in a breakdown and leaves you one win shy of the playoffs.

Honestly, I tend to overreact when it comes to the Mets because they are the one sports team I treat like life or death... but I really do think we'll be fine in the longrun this year. Pretty much everything starts and ends with David Wright and he can't keep playing like he is right now all year.

He is absolutely fucking KILLING the team right now. Over the past year and a half no player in baseball has come to bat with more runners on base than Wright... and he is simply pathetic in those situations. He's on the interstate this year with RISP and if there is one single guy who is hurting this team more than any other right now, it's him. It sucks, because he is supposed to be the franchise player and the face of the organization but he is going to completely have his spirit broken if he keeps this up. I never thought, after 2006 that Jose Reyes or David Wright would be booed on sight by the Shea/Citi faithful... but Reyes got his at the end of 2007 and David is getting his right now...

You're probably a bit more hardcore fan than me when it comes to the Mets, but there's a Phillies fan her who puts us both to shame. He lives in Charlotte and flies up for every weekend home series, and drives to ATL or DC everytime they play the Braves or Nats. He cancels board meetings if they have a day game. He forces me to watch every pitch of every Phils/Mets game with him. Last year he burned his Pat Burrell jersey in the conference room when he kept striking out in the playoffs.

He has a tattoo of Mike Schmidt on his shoulder.

Point is, he's freaking out about being 11-9. Panic. I can't even get to my office before he intercepts me and goes on an interrupted 8 minute diatribe about how much cock Brett Myers sucks. I finally had to stop him and say "Chuck, its still fucking April !"

It's still fucking April. Despite what Chuck or Mike Vaccaro or Matthew Cerrone will lead to to believe.

Memorial Day is when we can officially start to worry. Until then, its just "a slow start".

That is because the game is in Atl, and most home Atl games are shown on that Peachtree station that you can only get through a premium tv service.

Coming into this season, I thought we'd be out of it by Memorial Day.

To repeat what you guys have been saying for the past 20 years, though: next year is ours.
