Although my argument is tough to make when you see these dudes that have been on death row for 30 years only to have new DNA evidence pop up that sets them freemakes you wonder how many dudes we executed that were prosecuted prior to DNA evidence and were, in fact, innocent.[Edited on January 22, 2009 at 2:58 PM. On one hand, it's a bunch of bull that it costs more to whack a death-row inmate than the already-inflated cost of incarceration would be.On the other hand, at least we know that we're not killing people out of convenience or to save a buck.^ while that is a serious, legitimate concern, i suspect that it isn't as big of a factor with the people being convicted now, as forensic science and stuff has come so far in the last 30 years. I mean, for the most part, that DNA evidence is taken into account from day 1 nowadays, rather than being scraped up (so to speak) 30 years later.additionally, the case for the death penalty that I threw out there earlier isn't really discredited by that.[Edited on January 22, 2009 at 3:02 PM. ^^ exactly. i work with the innocence project. shit is crazy.

Although the VAST majority of criminals on death row are guilty of their crimes.

yea but what about that ONE guy. that is fucked up. and they way that they "find" the DNA evidence is so fucked up too. like these people (at the innocence centers around the country) spend their time just digging and digging and digging for the needles in the haystack and when they find them they find that like police didn't store the evidence right, or like the DNA evidence they had was completely ignored, etc. and then you see the guys that have missed their children's lives. they get out and their kids are like 23. they don't even know what cell phones are or how to use a computer because they've been locked up for so long. it is seriously so sad.i know most people are guilty but i can't help care about the people that aren't.
