Amazing show! They definitely lived up to my expectations! Here's a pic I took during Undisclosed Desires (I actually backed up a little for Muse - was closer for Metric).

All that being said, I was severely disappointed that they did not play Map of the Problematique. That and Assasin or New Born I would take any day of the week over some of the newer stuff off The Resistance

[Edited on October 27, 2010 at 8:51 AM. Reason : and played only 90 minutes? Fucking weak!]

As soon as they broke out the lasers I was extremely glad I was on the floor.

The stage set up was so great you didn't even have to be up close to get a good view. Makes me feel a little foolish for standing in line before doors opened...instead of tailgating and drinking beer for 90 minutes

That picture is almost the same angle I was standing. We may have been standing next to each other.

That setup is cool to look at, but I can't help but think they feel like incredible douches standing on those platforms.

they were on the platforms for maybe 1/3 of the show. Also, I don't think I would just feel like a boss playing a piano on top of a platform like that in front of thousands of people.

Great show. My wife and I were about 4 rows back from center stage. The balloon release was cool, and I loved seeing the drummer pop one in mid-song.

Ha...I went to this with my little brother and his friend because I ended up getting a free ticket and I thought the same thing. They even looked a little uncomfortable on those things, just like most normal people would with only, say, 16 square feet of space to move around without falling to serious injury in front of thousands. That said, it definitely was really cool to look at, as was the whole show. They did lower the platforms and just stand on the stage three songs into the set (and for most of the set), then got back on them for a couple songs in the middle of the set.

Light show was awesome, music was eh. I've never been a huge fan of Muse, but they're far from the worst band in the world. I feel more or less the same way about Muse that I do about Green Day--that they aren't a great band (and they're faaaaar from an original band), but I approve of what they do a whole lot more than I approve of what so many other mainstream modern rock bands are doing. Just because the songs are adequate and they incorporate some things into their music that are great if done correctly, although they themselves don't necessarily do them correctly (Radiohead did/does).

That said, I enjoyed the show last night. Visually stunning, good vibes even though the crowd was a little odd, and they are definitely entertaining. I wouldn't say I'm more of a Muse fan because of the show, but it was certainly entertaining. Not just the light show, either...Matthew Bellamy is a surprisingly impressive guitarist. But, who am I kidding, it was mostly the visuals.

This has been widely known for a while (well, widely known if you're a fan I suppose, haha).

While I'm definitely a Muse homer, I will say that a few friends of mine became Muse fans after their opening performance for U2 last fall.

I was really hoping for Butterflies and Hurricanes, but I enjoyed what they played. There was only one song I didn't recognize.

LOL, same thing with my video. I thought it was way too fucking loud for my camera to pick up my voice. Boy I ruined that audio...butchered it.

I was in section 128 in an aisle seat and was able to put my feet up and just lay back and feel the thump thump thump. . . what a fucking good show.

Saw the show at MSG Monday night. Was disappointed. Seriously Bellamy...your latest album sucks. Stop playing that shit. And how the FUCK do you close with that Survival piece of shit song???

Set List for Monday night, show I attended:

Supremacy
Map of the Problematique
(Who Knows Who outro)
Supermassive Black Hole
Resistance
Panic Station
(Star-Spangled Banner intro) for Boston
Knights of Cydonia
(Man with a Harmonica intro)
Monty Jam
Explorers
Follow Me
United States of Eurasia
Liquid State
Madness
Time Is Running Out
Undisclosed Desires
Stockholm Syndrome
(Rage Against the Machine's Freedom outro)
The 2nd Law: Unsustainable

(Extended outro)

Encore:
Starlight
(Dedicated to the people of Boston)
Survival

This was their set list the following night

The 2nd Law: Unsustainable
Supremacy
Panic Station
Supermassive Black Hole
(Rage Against the Machine's Revolver outro)
Plug In Baby
Resistance
Hysteria
(Star-Spangled Banner intro, … more)
Knights of Cydonia
(Man with a Harmonica intro)
Feeling Good
(Leslie Bricusse & Anthony Newley cover) (Lightning Bolt's Dracula Mountain intro)

Yeah, I mean they played 8/9 songs off their latest (and shittiest) album. Pretty damn sure they didn't play anywhere near that many songs off The Resistance when I last saw them perform

in what way has their music changed from several years ago until now? have they mellowed, are they jamming more, have they become boring and appear to be simply chasing the paycheck and not putting work into their craft?
