Do you guys know where the Pink house in Cary is? My parents live right next door. The Pink house is technically in wake county, so Cary cannot make them change the color of the paint on their home. Trust me, they would fine the people that live in the Pink house into poverty if they could.

I'm not sure how to interpret the information on this page but the way it looks to me is that he was one of the 3 people who just took the money where the others had some sort of issue that needed resolving (but the .doc file links don't work anymore). There's also that one house in Cary that has all of the overgrown foliage, tons of Keep Out and Danger signs, and razor wire around the property. They were there before Cary became Pleasantville and are grandfathered out of having to follow the city ordinances for such things.

I don't know if it's the one you are referring to, but there is a pink house right off the Cary Parkway exit on US1 south. It's just one block away from the exit on the right if you are heading toward Kildaire. That the one?

It was extremely bright when first painted... I want to say it was even painted on or close to Valentine's day too. The color has since faded considerably.

The people that live in the Pink house are from Kentucky and they painted their house that color in protest of Cary policies. They like to put up really tacky lawn art and the city had so many complaints they sent people to their home to request that they put away the lawn art. Well, it was a big mistake. Lesson learned, don't ever tell anyone from Kentucky what to do on their own property.

The town has offered to install a drainage system and drop all fines if he would take down the graffiti.

He has refused to allow them to install the drainage system because he is holding out for them buying the house. He contends that the water has done damage to the structure, but admits that there was a water problem before any road work was done.

He is going about it backward though, IMHO. What he painted on the house is just giving them more leverage.

The more I listened to him on the radio this morning, the more I wanted to stab him. He is a curmudgeon that is about 10 feet over his head.

We're practically neighbors then. I'd really, really like to get a job in one of those new office buildings... just for the commute implications. Sad to see all those tress go though. I felt for sure they were going to ruin that habitat for all the neighborhood rabbits. I still see some, but not nearly as many as before.

Oh yeah. I can't remember which house it is, but one of those houses (either the pink house or one on either side of it) always seems to have a million phone books in their garage.

Dude wants Cary to buy his house for tax value + 80 grand. He won't let em pu tin additional drainage features.

ACLU sent a letter to the Town of Cary lawyer saying they can't fine him under teh Cary sign rule because it violates his first amendment rights.

Cary's not paying, and they're not commenting on the ACLU thing since they just got it.
