TTT for tonight's new ones!

and that show after is pretty hilarious too - "4 weddings" or whatever. at least last weeks was crazy. like 4 brides judge each others weddings to compete for a honeymoon.

anyway. kinda excited. yay big friday night in haha

new ones at 9. anyone? anyone? ok fine just me.

speaking of weddings, today my dad asked what my boyfriend and i were doing - like if we had discussed marriage. which of course we have. i just thought it was kinda like

shit. growing up. too many life changes at once haha. well i'm not getting married or engaged anytime soon so at least i don't have that stress. WHEW haha

ahaha my sister has been dating the same dude for like 6 years and everytime they go to someone else's wedding people ask them when theirs is going to be - and my Mom always asks her what she got from her boyfriend for christmas or her birthday and its always a diamond.... necklace, or earrings. I think my mom nearly has a heart attack everytime

And then my parents look at me and know its pretty much hopeless haha.

hahha. yea i didn't expect my dad to ask about it. he was like "well i was 26 when i got married" and i turn 26 this year so i was like

he probably just wants a lot of warning because i think when i get married it might kill him lol.

now there's a same sex female couple on say yes to the dress. i hope they aren't jealous cause they are both wearing dresses. i don't thinkt hey're matching so i wouldn't want to be the one looking less pretty than the other one.

that would totally suck to be the less attractive one. Its more difficult to compare the level of attractiveness in heterosexual couples imo.

as much as i think a dress over $5000 is ridic (i mean even over like $2000 even though i know that is on the "cheap" end) i DO really like the pnina's. sigh.

now i'm looking on preownedweddingdresses.com and the pnina's are still so expensive on there. but so pretty:

and i don't usually like beading/crystals/embellishment type stuff but i guess cause these dresses are so well done i think it is pretttttyyyyy. but its also on a model and i def could never pull something like that off

It is so sad to me that there really is a big difference between the more expensive and less expensive dresses.

You'd think 2 grand would cut it, but then they come out in a 8k, and it's like, "OMG, she's actually pretty now! How'd they do that!??!?!"

I've never been wedding dress shopping in real life though...so maybe Kleinfeld just manipulates the dresses to make it appear that there's a huge disparity in quality?

I bought a $900 dress (which I thought was expensive). But I absolutely loved it. There could not have been a more perfect dress for me. I tried on dresses that ranged from $300 and up, and I found some in each price range that looked nice, and i could have been happy with. I definitely don't think you need to spend a great deal of money to find a dress that makes you look good.

On the same episode last night, a girl came in with a budget of $2,500. She ended up leaving with a dress that was half that and on sale. She tried on tons of dresses too.

i don't know if tons episodes are new - but i'm watching. i haven't seen them

bia just tried on a GIANT PUFFY LAYERED PINK DRESS. oh god it was disgusting. and she's a redhead.

luckily she didn't chose it.

and i agree with you guys ^^, ^. the price is ridic. i hope when the time comes for me i can find a used one orrrr one under 2000. maybe my mom's dress will work or they can make something new out of my deb dress orrrrr i dunno - i even like a lot of the jcrew dresses. i know they aren't individual but, i like them and they are affordable. don't get me wrong, i love the fancy ones too - i just wonder if i could ever justify spending like 5000 on one. even the people that use their own money and get a $5000 or $8000 gown. i'd rather use that for like, backpacking in europe or something. or toward a house or i dunno. it just seems like so much money but maybe if i had extra $5000 just chillin i'd sing a different tune.

that isn't even that high

i mean the "cheap" ones can start at like $2000. i mean you can get like a $300 one at a david's bridal or something of course. but i feel like people easily shell out like $4000 and $5000 for dresses. esp on this show.

there have been ones that were like $20,000

^ holy shit. that's just an absurd amt to spend on a dress you wear once.

So I haven't seen this show... but I really want to make an appt at Kleinfeld's just so I can see these things in person. Maybe just fail to mention I already have a dress..

$1000 is a ridiculous amount for something you wear once, let alone $2000, $5000 or $20,000

i only spent about $350 on mine and it got ruined by a drycleaner who refused to take responsibility and didnt even press the damn thing for me when i brought it by before my reception. i had to wear it with some ink on the sleeve and i am very glad i didn't spend any more on it.

If I ever go wedding dress shopping with my mom it'll be like all those atlanta families rolled into one....

I would come out in a dress I love and she'd say "no...you don't need to wear that...it makes you look fatter than you are...your belly sticks out and your arms are too fat....and it just looks cheap...you need to wear something to cover yourself....you just don't look good in that at all"

then she'd go pick out some little house on the prairie looking shit with sleeves and a collar...make me try it on...then bully me into getting it until I was balling my eyes out in front of everybody in the store....even though I'm paying for it with my own money

that's pretty much how it went when I bought a house...only she didn't tell me I was fat then

^ wow....that sounds absolutely miserable....damnit....

I can't believe I'm reading this thread. Fuck.

I really do like that dress on whatever page. Fuck, I read more than one page. Where there are no straps and it's embellished- I don't even like sequins or anything- ever- but maybe it's the model. Does that make me gay? Either way, that dress/model is pretty awesome.

I'm never looking in this thread again. This post is going to get lost in the bandwidth universe never to be found again.

ok its so amazing how the silhouettes matter. and how models can make anything look good haha

but this is SIMILAR (same designer and very close) to the one this girl had on. it doesn't look horrible on the model at all - it actually looks pretty. but this GIGANTIC girl was wearing it and it just bunched in the stomach area...complete wrong shape for her body type. plus the one the girl had on had more flowers and was pink. and not in a good way. she even said she thought people would think she looked like miss piggy. lolz.

yea it was just so bad for her body type. i have a friend that is about my size (short) and did a mermaid and she looked good, but i feel like taller is better. this girl on the show ended up buying a mermaid, but a different one. they tried to talk her out of it but she just loved it. it did make her look larger and squatty :/ oh well, i guess she was happy that is all that matters!

another dress from the last ep (the woman didn't buy it). she was shopping with future step daughters and was letting them pick out some dresses (they were probably 8 - 13 year olds) and one picked out this one for her lolz. she said that it was the same child that when she (the mom) dressed up as a prostitute for halloween told her how pretty she looked haha

note: again on the model it looks good haha. but on the woman in the show it honestly looked like she was wearing toilet paper shreds
