Yes, what we need is another coach with an insatiable ego.
After this debacle, you think many parents will want their kids to play for this headcase?
I don't see Leach returning to TT after this 'suspension' He'll probably wind up at a very very desperate program.12/29/2009 9:19:10 AM |

Quote : | " Jim Leavitt has been fired as South Florida's football coach, sources close to the coaching staff have told ESPN.com.
Leavitt has been under investigation by the university for allegedly grabbing and striking special teams player Joel Miller at halftime of a November game against Louisville.
The allegations originally were made by Joel Miller's father, Paul, in an online report. Paul Miller has backtracked from original comments that alluded to contact Leavitt allegedly made with his son's neck and face.
Last month, Joel Miller said allegations that he was physically harmed by Leavitt were not true.
"I don't think anything should happen to him," Miller told ESPN's Joe Schad on Dec. 16. "Me and Coach Leavitt are fine. People can say different things but he only grabbed my shoulder pads to motivate me, because he's a passionate guy. He never apologized because he had nothing to apologize for."
South Florida's findings of its investigation into the alleged incident will be released later Friday, AOL Fanhouse reports.
Miller told Schad last month that he plans to remain with South Florida's program.
"It's been real hard especially on my family," Miller said. "But my plan is to stay and play here."
Florida defensive line coach Dan McCarney, former Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville, who has strong ties in the state of Florida from his tenure on Miami's coaching staff, and Michigan offensive coordinator Calvin Magee are expected to be candidates to replace Leavitt, a source told ESPN.com's Ivan Maisel. USF is headed to the shitter. I always figured that Leavitt was their Bobby Bowden and they'd eventually name the field of their on-campus stadium after him.
I think this probably has more to do with his downward trend lately more than his physical contact with that player.

Quote : | "When news broke Thursday that Pete Carroll had interest in taking the vacated Seattle Seahawks job, recruits at the Army All-American Bowl reacted quickly, and swiftly.
Gerard Martinez Kyle Prater left the team hotel Thursday shaken by the news of Pete Carroll possibly leaving USC
Here are the thoughts on the situation from the Trojans' committed recruits just moments ago from San Antonio.
Running back San Diego (Calif.) Dillon Baxter, distraught, is already conceived that Carroll and his staff will be on their way to Seattle before the end of the week.
"He's gone man," said Baxter Thursday night before his All-American awards ceremony. "I've haven't talked to the coaches yet - they won't talk to me."
Baxter isn't alone in his assumption. While none of USC's committed recruits had spoken specifically with the Trojans coaching staff, Chino (Calif.) four-star defensive tackle George Uko like Baxter was already convinced that Carroll was leaving.
"He is really gone," said Uko, back home in Chino. "I don't know what's going to happen. I'm still committed, but we'll wait and see who they hire before I make any moves."
Baxter and Hillside (Ill.) five-star receiver Kyle Prater are both scheduled to enroll at USC next week. Prater took the news emotionally, but didn't explain his feelings in detail.
"I don't even want to talk about that," Prater told Rivals.com.
Walking away, with a sickened look on his face, Prater had no further comment.
USC commits, receiver Robert Woods and punter Matt Darr reacted with less emotion, but just as much concern.
"Yes, I heard," Woods explained. "I haven't gotten into contact with (the coaches) yet. I heard what everything (being said on) TV. It's really uncertain what's going on right now."
Darr, also an Army All-American, followed suit.
"My feeling is, from his perspective, he has to do what's best for his family," said Darr. "If going to the NFL is what's best for him, I have to do what's best for me, and that means looking out for me and my family."
College coaches nationally have already begun contacting many of USC's committed recruits, which makes the silence of Trojan assistant coaches even more deafening.
"I can't declare that I;'m going to talk to other schools, because I haven't," said Darr. "Those thoughts go through your head. We'll see where this takes us."
Several of USC's committed recruits in San Antoinio have spoken to the Trojans' staff members early this week, making Thursday's news that much more surprising.
"I got calls from (Brian) Schnieder and (Jeremy) Bates yesterday and the day before just about the game here, and them wishing me luck," said Darr. "This is a big surprise. I was at practice when they called, so I thought they were just routine calls. Maybe they were trying to tell me something." " |

HAHAHAHAHA holy shit, Kirby Smart told Georgia to fuck off... sometimes you cant go home. They had been reporting this as fact down here for about 3 days, talking shit that UGA is "back"
Quote : | "The call of his alma mater at least got him to listen, but Kirby Smart knows a good thing when he sees one.
After weighing a multi-year deal that would have paid him in the $750,000 range annually at Georgia, Smart decided the best move for him professionally was to stay at Alabama.
Of course, it’s a little easier to make that decision when Alabama also steps up to the plate financially in a big way. Alabama coach Nick Saban simply wasn’t going to lose Smart in a lateral move and especially not to another SEC school.
In other words, look for Smart’s $360,000 salary at Alabama to multiply.
Saban also made it clear Monday that it’s his goal for Smart to leave Alabama only for a head coaching job -- and a good head coaching job at that.
“You expect guys like Kirby to get lots of opportunities to do things, and we want to continue to help him continue to develop his career here so that when he leaves here, it’s going to be to be as a head coach and probably in a very good situation,” said Saban, calling Smart one of the finest assistants in the country.
Smart, an All-SEC defensive back at Georgia, said the only reason he even considered this move was because of his ties to the Bulldogs. His wife, Mary Beth, also played basketball at Georgia.
“After thinking about all the factors over the last couple days, we are going to stay at the University of Alabama," Smart said. "We love it in Tuscaloosa, have made some great friends here and I think we are building something special here at Alabama with coach Saban. I have learned so much in the time I’ve spent with coach Saban, and every year I feel like I become a better coach.
“I’ve got a great deal of respect for coach Richt and the job he has done there, and the University of Georgia will also have a special place in my heart. Not only did I play there, but my wife played basketball there and we have a lot of friends at UGA. At the end of the day, I just feel like this is where I am supposed to be and this is a special time to be at the University of Alabama.”
The question now: Where does Georgia turn for its defensive coordinator?
Mark Richt has now been publicly turned down three different times. First, it was Virginia Tech’s Bud Foster. Next was LSU’s John Chavis and most recently Smart.
At this point, it would appear Dallas Cowboys defensive line coach Todd Grantham would be the top candidate. But with the Cowboys winning their first-round playoff game, he might not be available until the end of this month.
Either way, Richt is 0-for-3 and still looking for somebody to lead his defense. There's no overstating the importance of this hire, either. It may well shape the remainder of Richt's coaching career at Georgia." |
