Not a weird spelling but in College there was this girl named "Dallas" whenever I'd see her the theme song from Dallas played in my head. She was a nice girl though.

I feel like that's a fuck up on the birth certificate.

I have a friend named "Cara" that is like that. Spells its "Carra", but on her DL and Birth Certificate it's "Cara". Sore subject for her.

I know a teacher who had a Le-a (Ledasha). She thought the kid was fucking with her til the parent meeting. Awkward.

My buddy just knocked up a girl named "Cadie". Pronounced "Kadie"...obviously the "t" is pronounced as a "d"...but no one knew that's how she spelled her name, so everyone calls her "Katie."

hey have you people ever heard of someone using a "-" in a name, but pronouncing it "dash?"

like "L-a" as "Ladasha" or "Le-a" as "Ledasha"??

I've never heard of that before!!! lol

"Not all symbols go by only one name. While the "-" in "Le-a" could be parsed as "dash", it could just as easily be read as "hyphen" or "minus". Such alternate interpretations of the "-" would render "Ledasha" as:

"Lehyphena" [pronounced La-hyphen-a]
and
"Leminusa" [pronounced La-minus-a]"

lol

Nice, that chain mail shit is very similar to the actual conversation, but with more exclamations and less bewilderment.
