the bodies outside seemed to be past the decomposition stage (they weren't bloated). so they're probably in the putrefication stage, but i didn't see lots of liquid goo pooling around them...so maybe early putrefication. so that's between 3-4 weeks. 11/1/2010 8:12:45 PM |

^^yeah. idk, i just seems to me like a hospital with a zombie problem wouldn't be accepting new patients period, but it could still happen.
^i LOVE mad men!!!! even my grandma loved mad men. why doesn't your gf like it? i've become a puss over the last couple of years w/ scary & emotionally intense/anxious movies & shows. i leave during dexter sometimes bc i'm about to have heart attack. i did fast forward through a couple of spots in this show bc i thought there was going to be a lot more of the zombie-jumps-out-at-you kind of thing. there wasn't though.

um, trust me... if this series is anything like the comics (which thus far it seems to be), this show will get SCARY AS SHIT. You'll be begging for mercy.
And, I also agree with not giving away any spoilers in this thread... it's definitely best to be in the dark about things until they happen. Hopefully no one deems my above statement as a spoiler. I'm pretty sure it's safe to give away that a zombie show might get scary.11/1/2010 11:54:32 PM |

I was pretty amazed at how quickly it got ripped apart. That said, injured horse noises are among the worst thing ever.11/2/2010 11:07:26 AM |

Making noise was one thing they made a big deal about b/c that could attract hordes of zombies from all directions but then Morgan goes and starts firing the rifle to get his zombie wife there to shoot her. That should have screwed him and his son over by bring all those zombies up to the house and probably knocked the doors down. 11/2/2010 11:49:39 AM |
Jeepin4x4 #Pack9 35774 Posts user info edit post |
yeah, but he also made mention that the zombies were a lot more aggressive at night so maybe he felt less of a threat. 11/2/2010 2:20:17 PM |
toemoss All American 2950 Posts user info edit post |
He talked about needing target practice which is gonna make noise wherever he is... You might as well practice on zombies, and the boarded up house is probably the safest place to do it from.
Plus, He can kill off a few of the locals, and hopefully put his wife to rest before he leaves the area.
They haven't really said that one gunshot will create a swarm of zombies banging on his door, just that it would attract attention

Awesome first episode.
I didn't get the vibe that they were going for scary. At least not in a normal sense. The psychological torment i think was well represented. Kind of still in a daze about what is going on much like the main character.
Well done. 11/2/2010 3:23:09 PM |

I tried to pick ones that IMO are not spoilers, since it's not really clear who/what's going on in the pictures. But I'll quit doing it just in case. 11/2/2010 3:30:53 PM |

Just watched the premiere and I really liked it.
I love suspenseful stuff, and I too thought there were going to be a ton of zombie jumping at you scenes, but I wasn't disappointed that there wasn't.
The "suprise" scare seems like a cheap tactic. I loved the way they did it, lots of moments holding my breath or bracing myself, only to have nothing happen.
Great show so far, will keep watching. 11/2/2010 9:37:12 PM |

I was kinda wondering why he used his revolver in the opening scene to shoot the little girl in the head, but I guess he just got back into his car and drove off.
Also, wouldn't his police station have a gas storage of some kind for reserves? And why didn't he bring more gas? I mean I would have decked the whole drunk with gas cans.

I know it's been addressed before, but can we please stay away from phrases like "you'll see that..." and "just wait until..."?
You might not consider it a spoiler, or think that it matters but some people are more sensitive than others about these sorts of things.
For the purposes of this thread, can we please just pretend the books don't exist? As it's been suggested, if you want to discuss the similarities or differences, just start another thread.11/3/2010 2:50:56 PM |

I think she meant doing stupid shit like leaving your bag of guns on the ground to investigate shit with a single revolver...leaving your cop car to go on an unwarranted stroll through the park with again only your single revolver, going to a major city (though that last one is understandable since he thinks his family might be there).11/3/2010 2:57:12 PM |

I'm just surprised he didn't have any melee weapons in the tricks bag, although a shotgun butt could easily fill that role.
Not that I'm complaining, but how easy is it for human hands to penetrate and rip apart horse flesh so easily? Granted they are zombies, but wouldn't their lower dexterity abilities somehow reduce their forcible strength abilities as well? It's like they pulled the "beating heart trick" from indy jones. 11/3/2010 3:05:55 PM |
El Nachó special helper 16370 Posts user info edit post |
So maybe I missed it, but how come nobody's mentioned how incredibly stupid the group of survivors are for sleeping in TENTS?
I mean like...wtf? tents? I don't think I could think of a worse place to sleep. You have free access to literally EVERY BUILDING EVER BUILT ON THE PLANET, and you decide that the best line of defense between you and hordes of zombies is a piece of fabric?
