Yeah I'm severely disappointed in how weak Phoenix is. She doesn't look that powerful in her hits, and Dark Phoenix doesn't seem to have that overwhelming force to make her glassjaw a necessary measure.

Advancing Guard is a way to push your opponent away while you're blocking. It also reduces chip damage if you're blocking a move with a lot of hits (like Ice Storm or a beam super). Good tactic if your opponent is right on top of you.

I'm in the exact opposite camp. The only Marvel characters that interest me are Phoenix and Deadpool (mildly interested in MODOK and Dormammu for complexity/annoyance). Most of the others are so-so, or I've played them in plenty of other Marvel fighters.

On the Capcom side, I can't wait to use Amaterasu, Dante, Zero, and Arthur. I wouldn't mind taking Chun-Li (who already looks like a beast in this game) and Trish for a spin either.

On the PSN network 2/3 times when I try to have an online match it fails to join the game session. There's no option to create a ranked match and wait for someone to join like on SF IV. It's really annoying. So far the lag has been tolerable and I haven't had any downright unplayable matches though. It's been pretty fun.

Me and three friends spent the whole evening trying to beat Galactus on medium difficulty, maybe we just all suck but it took us nearly a dozen controller-passes before we finally took him out. God damn that guy is difficult.

I spent about an hour fucking around with Deadpool, Iron Man, Wolvering, Arthur, and Dante in the practice/mission level. Some of the combos you have to pull off for that shit are annoying as fuck. I finally started getting good at chaining some team aerial combos together but when I tried online (as expected) it is pretty difficult to land a solid combo opener and go into anything big. I didn't have any connection or lag issues, but I did have one guy rage quit after I beat two of his dudes with Dante. Aside from that one and one other fight, I got my ass handed to me just about every time.
