the only problem is that the soles are wooden

and the lobby of my building ( before the security doors) is wood as well

They're comfy to me. no complaints here. It's the kind of shoe that kind of molds to your foot inside, but still offers support.

Depending on how often you wear them, on what surfaces, and the type of the sole... you can expect to have to have them resoled every 2 years or so.

The soles of most dress shoes are leather or rubber, not wood...
that said, most goodyear soled shoes have a layer of cork for shock and it is the part that molds to your foot
