also, i got really into footless tights last year. i still <3 leggings but sometimes they can be too heavy (not weatherwise, but just look too heavy with the outfit - i like too much fabric). tights are another alternative and they have a wide array of colors. esp at target right now there are TONS OF TIGHTS in millions of colors. of course black and navy are the two standby go with most anything options.
