Okay of the 4 straight wins versus UNC, which one is your favorite?

2007 31-27
2008 41-10
2009 28-27
2010 29-25
"

That's tough. This year's win was awesome with the "Hail Mary" 2 yard pass and TJ's punt return. While all the replays and pics I have seen clearly show that none of our players touched the ball after they went out of bounds, UNC fans still claim it was a bad...I love that there is a bit of controversy (that didn't hurt us) in that win. 41-10 was great because we were underdogs and if IIRC, we had to win out to go bowling (and we did). 2009's game was very entertaining with the blocked FG and the late INT to seal it. And 2007 was just an awesome finish after we let them march down the field, we held on as time expired and Jimmie Sutton III (I think) made a great play to deflect that final 4th down pass. 41-10 might be my favorite because I love how embarrassing it was. It was not even close. We absolutely dominated them. It was such a blow out, we didn't even attempt a pass in the 4th quarter. And yet we were still able to run it down their throats too. I remember after we went up 31-10 (I think), I told my dad "I think we're gonna hang 50 on them". We easily could have had it not been for dropped passes, and TOB respectfully running the ball in the 4th rather than tossing it around.

I'm hoping we can add #5 to the list this season!

25. QB Russell Wilson - North Carolina State
Class: Senior
Height: 5'11 Weight: 201
Hometown: Richmond, VA

Some might consider this a long shot. Well, the No. 25 spot on this list surely is. Russell Wilson may be a better baseball player and during the summer he will continue to pursue that career. Whether he decides to return to Raleigh for another football season is a big question mark. In 2008, Wilson was the first freshman ever to be named the first-team All-ACC quarterback. He has a propensity to toss the interception but when Wilson is on his game, he is elusive, dangerous and awfully fun to watch.

Also to respond to the question of favorite win out of the 4 straight vs UNC...

2007: 31-27- this was my last shot at beating UNC as a senior and it was an epic game that saw Daniel Evans single handedly keep UNC in it by tossing INTs for TDs. at the end though i remember tears of joy as we deflected the pass in the endzone. What a way to kickoff what was one of the most fun nights I had in college. After being at the TA McClendon game this one gave me redemption.

2008: 41-10- Single most incredible time ever. Went to the game, and things were close early. We were in the upper deck on the fringe of the state section/unc alumni. By the 3rd quarter i was dancing on the bench SPANKING. MY. ASS. pretty much the greatest walk ever back to our car.

2009:28-27- TJ Yates being the biggest douchebag in the world and then shutting his ass up in the 2nd half was awesome. I drank bourbon in the game and recall myself being one of the happiest drunks in the world by the time the game ended. I think I dialed every UNC friend of mine and left messages of me singing our fight song. and 3 IN A ROW.

2010: 29-25- When TJ Graham went 87 yards to the house, we were jumping and stomping on the aluminum bench in the upper deck so much that the backing to the bleacher unbolted and fell off. the safety in the end zone was the icing on the cake that made this experience incredible. took my parents to the game too. got back to my car and UNC turds had broken off all of my car flags. classy.

The spring organizational chart is out: http://media.scout.com/media/doc/91/911038.pdf. Dean Haynes is a DB again, and Everett Proctor is now at WR. Also Curtis Underwood has left the program.

"According to a NC State official, rising senior tailback Curtis Underwood is no longer on the team. Underwood isn't listed on the updated 2011 NC State roster, and the official indicated that the updated roster is correct.

A native of Lackawanna, New York, Underwood played sparingly in 2010 after redshirting in 2009.

He had one year of eligibility remaining and wasn't expected to compete for playing time at the tailback position.

His future plans are unknown at this point. "

Probably 41-10 because that's the only one that didn't take years off my life.

The safety in 2010 was an emotional high, but somewhat tempered because I knew they'd get the ball back and have another shot.

Was 2009 the game where late game, perhaps the final UNC play was Yates tossing the ball out of bounds because there were no open receivers... the only problem was it was 4th down

After watching this video again I noticed that there was a lot of Carolina blue in the NEZ student section. Why? There should never be anyone in the student section sporting that heinous color, and when I was a student if there was someone that was spotted we quickly made them want to leave or got them kicked out. I didn't graduate that long ago (Dec. 2006), but have our students just gotten soft?

If I'm remembering correctly, it was because those seats were actually sold as general admission seats by the senior class to raise money for something (can't remember what though). Plus it was Thanksgiving weekend, so I think they were expecting a lower student turnout regardless of it being the UNC game.

Fortunately Virginia Tech saves us from that. Their schedule is god awful. They don't even play one BCS conference opponent, or at least a good non-AQ team like Boise State.

are you talking about the shot right after the clem johnson pick to seal the W?

if so, that's the South EZ visitors section.

I didn't see any good shots of the NEZ. I sit in the NEZ, and I remember a couple of UNC fans peppered in the crowd, but nothing unusual in that area.

The NEZ is the RBC Center side. When they kick their first FG and when Owen Spencer grabs the football off his shoulder and runs in for a TD you can see the NEZ seating. The student section is the bleachers that are lower than the red chairbacks.

EJ Carter is nowhere to be found on that organizational chart. Anyone know what's going on with him?

I'm also surprised to see DJ Green listed as the starter on the strong side. That's a great sign for his future.

If CJ Wilson really starts the season at corner I will never stop weeping. I'm hoping he's listed as starter solely because the other two are returning from injury.

14 starters returned for Spring practice.

I was just reading the article up on wralsportsfan.com and saw this gem of a comment

Quote :
"I know I'm going to catch heck being a Duke fan and all, but you State people just kill me . . .

"It has to be better than basketball"???? Why? Because every once in a blue moon it actually is?! You guys are typically just as big of a joke in football as you are in every other sport. My Dukies even waxed that fannie in Carter-Finley. Wake up and smell reality. Please. You aren't funny anymore. You're just sad. "

"QUESTION: EJ Carter did not appear on the initial Org Chart, many fans were excited about his transfer from Syracuse is there anything you can tell us about his absence, injury? position change? etc.

O'Brien: E.J. has not lived up to his responsibilities off the field and until those are met, he will not be a part of spring practice. Hopefully he will meet those obligations so that he'll be ready to go for camp in August."

"QUESTION: Which player surprised you the most last year with their play?

O'Brien: I would have to say David Amerson. We knew coming in that he was an exceptional athlete, but didn't know about his maturity level - he was able to handle the pressure of being a starting corner in the ACC. As you may have noticed on our organizational chart, we've moved him to the field corner because of his playmaking ability. We will see how that works out with him and CJ Wilson changing spots this spring."

Thank god.

this year and hopefully its because TOB is screaming to beat teams by 40 and not because of boneheaded mistakes.

^That was what I told my friends...after the fumble they could have played any song on the stadium playlist and I wouldn't have cared. Had the Baja Men come on at any other time in the game it would have been an awful choice.

I told the cheerleader next to me that they could have played anything and the crowd would go along with it. Not bashing the song at the time, but after thinking about it there were better songs they could have played, but at the time, almost the entire stadium barked during the song.

Irving gained 10 lbs since the end of the season. He ran the 40 in 4.65 secs.

Spencer ran a 4.5. Jarvis, Czajkowski, Akinniyi, and Mageo were out there too.
