I'm gonna miss House because of the stupid MLB and this show. Seen it for two weeks now and it's thoroughly 'meh'

One teenage romance would be tolerable, but two in the same show is overboard.

I looked into his filmography after this and had my mine blown too. I watched the shit outta Gettysburg back in the day and did not realize that Lang played General Pickett. One of the most memorable lines in that movie was when he sees Lee after the charge and Lee directs him to return to his men and Pickett/Lang replies "General Lee, I have no division" shell shocked and teary-eyed. I had not realized that was the same actor. Thanks for pointing out Tombstone so I could realize what else Lang has done. I again just thought of Avatar and nothing else.

i completely agree. this teen angst/teen romance theme has gotten old and it's bad enough there is 1 douche we have to deal with but now there is his sister too and her "love interest." enough is enough. and teen dude def looked like he had freakin eye makeup on during the scene where he kissed that girl. i guess it had to match his feminine purple shirt.

I mean the teen romances are annoying but damn I'd still much rather watch this than yet another procedural crime show or medical drama.

well they do have a cop and doctor as two of the main characters

I really hope they get into the "overall" story of the show in the next episode (i.e. the calculations, backstory for the portal, backstory for the sixers, etc.). Having two filler episodes out of the first three is pretty unacceptable. Its like the writers decided to put the show on cruise control immediately after the pilot

True

Still I hate how network TV can support 15 versions of NCSIS: Insert City but can't support one decent sci-fi show.

It wasn't a filler episode this time at least.

Also there was only 1 teenage romance plot and it didn't take too much time.

I thought the episode was pretty good.

went into the episode planning on it being my last if they made it another filler, but this one was probably the best of the first 4/5 episodes, so they bought themselves a few more weeks of my viewership.

The next episode looks like its going to be more filler shit

it's only a 13 episode season. if you manage to stick around through the halfway mark you might as well leg out the last half.

At least there was barely any screen time from the stupid rebellious son this time and only a small amount of the love interest between the daughter and that other guy. I'm at least very interested to find out what the real reason for Terra Nova is.

After episode 3, I took it for granted that Mark Reynolds (the soldier courting maddie) was a sixer, because of the scene where he has a knee jerk reaction and says that there wasn't a sixer ambush (something he could not have known without being a sixer). Even with his military clearance, he still wouldn't have known that the sixer's hadn't ambushed, unless he knew when and where the sixers were planning ambushes.

Everywhere I've looked for speculation on it seems to have ignored this. Now I'm not sure if I'm right, or if the writer's just screwed up and gave a character knowledge he shouldn't have.

Thoughts?

^I didn't notice that.

I find the wife very annoying, however. She's apparently smart enough to fix anything and even has time to perform surgery on a still borne baby dinosaur that nobody really cares about? And apparently people still have british accents in 2149?

Why wouldn't British people have British accents in 2149? I'm pretty sure British people had British accents in 1850.

normally i don't let little things like common sense interrupt my enjoyment of tv shows, but what's up with the selective tech? their weapons range from bows&arrows to some sort of pulse rifle...but skip over guns&bullets almost entirely? they have a machine that manufactures computer chips...but fail to keep it in a shielded container?

if i ignore all that, it was a decent episode
