I'd be surprised if many therapists would take a husband and wife as separate patients anyway without the understanding that there would be joint sessions. It's just too messy. It's probably her therapist that is insisting you see a different therapist, but your wife is just leaving out parts of the message. Either way, you should definitely keep seeing a therapist on your own, because a therapist will help you figure out what to do once you make a decision.



As for "being rational," that's what I do when faced with emotional situations. I shut everything else off and try to go solely based on rational thinking. And it's what you need to do, man. That's why I'm saying "fuck everything else, make a decision", because you'll be stuck with all the emotion in limbo until you do.

I've been to therapy, and bitching and moaning gets you nowhere in there. They are trained to see right through it, unless you're seeing a Dr. Nick kind of a therapist. But who cares about her therapist or what you wife says to him/her? That shit is just emotional baggage that is getting you stirred up for no reason and that isn't helping you.

I'm not sure I understand everyone throwing shade at BanjoMan ITT.

I think that we should all realize:

1. Relationships look and feel very different when you are currently going through that situation, and when you are looking back at it in retrospect.
And relationships look very different from the perspective of the person going through it, and to outside observers (that's why you need a good friend to tap you on the shoulder and pull you back sometimes).

It's really easy to pick this shit apart looking back at the situation....

2. People, in general, are smart and crafty individuals. And people with learning disabilities have literally learned to live their life in such a way to hide their shortcomings. People find a way to get by, and they find a way to trick others into believing they know more than they do. It's not hard to believe that someone might not know the extent to which someone might not be proficient in math, or entirely literate in general.
In your day to day life (aside from work), how often do you really need to do anything above basic math from an 7th or 8th grade level? How often do you really need to do much math at or above an algebra level?

I'm confused by this timeline.... according to the pregnancy thread you guys barely ever had sex before marriage and you knew when you guys conceived but it was the only time you had sex that month... which was before you got married....

Anyways, I wouldnt worry about alimony too much. I dont know how it works in Germany but she seems like the type that will find another new husband without much of a wait, so maybe that will get you off the hook for financial support. are divorces expensive? I would start the process asap and I would start living/sleeping anywhere else but where she is. Don't spend any time you dont have to near or around her.

Actually since you point that out, the funny thing is that I would have to order for her most of the time at new places. She made it seem like she was indecisive. But, I don't think that she is completely illiterate, she just has issues with reading outloud, and certainly with writing. If I had seen her writing before we got super comitted, I would have had major concerns.

What bothers me is that her mother is 100% absolutely illiterate.

I do have some serious unresolved questions. When I left the house, I was very mad at her because she had just broke my banjo when I was actually just trying to take time to myself. I yelled at her and she calmly called the police saying that she felt threatened. I said some things that I regret, and left. Should I be worried about the police coming to my work tomorrow and arressting me? Should I tell my boss about this?

I am thinking of just calling in sick tomorrow.

Well, I just found out through a friend that she lied to the Police. She said that I was yelling at her and arguing and the Banjo broke because she tripped on it, at which point I hit her. I should have stayed there to talk to the cops.

She was arguing with me and I went into a separate room to calm down, at which point she came into the room and maliciously grabbed the banjo.
