At this point, they are the epitome of a useless protest.

So are there people around the tents during the day, or do they go back to the Capitol? Because that little triangle is ostensibly the recess area for Exploris Middle School. Can't have a bunch of hippies hanging around kids.

HEY GUISE!!! ITS OK FOR ME TO CONTRIBUTE TO GLOBAL WARMING SO I CAN TELL YOU TO STOP DRIVING CARS!!!!!

If you can't see how this logic can produce answers, then you're an idiot.

^yeah, it is ok for one to use a car if he needs to get somewhere to do something that is important to them....but not for someone else to get somewhere that is important to them. Perfectly logical and expected.

Man, is it really that hard for people to understand closed systems of activism? It's the same faulted logic behind critiquing occupiers for wearing brand name clothing, the criticism means absolutely nothing.

Anyway, I saw in the Brickyard about 4-5 people with signs that said "ASK OCCUPY"--doing some kind of Q&A I guess. I did not ask occupy.

I talked to these people a few days ago.

They are very very eager to share what they think with anyone who is passing by / willing to listen.

...if only this energy could be funneled into something useful.

Quote :
"Occupy Raleigh protesters packed up their encampment near Edenton Street Sunday to spend more time on tackling economic equality issues, according to the group's Facebook page.

The group has rented a plot of land at Edenton and West streets in Raleigh since late November. Protests modeled after the Occupy Wall Street movement in New York City began in Raleigh in October.

Occupy Raleigh said it has spent too much time maintaining camp and not enough time fighting economic injustice.

Though they'll no longer be occupying the camp, the group plans to remain active."

Translation:

Fuck it. Camping is fun for so long. Plus we're tired of being ignored.
