I've cooked every Thanksgiving meal for the last 10 years or so and helped with years prior to that. This is our first Thanksgiving without my grandmother and even though I live in her house (the venue for every Turkey Day like ever), I'm refusing to host and cook. I held out long enough that my mom broke down and she and her new husband will be hosting.

so those cranberry bars, while kind of a pain in the ass to make, are pretty damn delicious

i did however ruin one of my favorite tee shirts b/c the cranberries exploded all over it while cooking

That's what aprons are for Except I always forget to put on my apron until after I've already gotten crap all over my clothes.

Um wtf my turkey has only been in there for 2 hours but the meat thermometer says it's done. Either my thermometer sucks or the oven is hotter than the 350 it claims to be.

so far this has been the most uneventful thanksgiving ever. it's weird to have no drama.

Thanksgiving was great.

Took the gf home to meet the rest of the family (she has met/hung out with the immediate family numerous times...got to meet the cousins/aunts/uncles this time). Weather was great, food was delicious, and the company was awesome.

Went to Raleigh to hang out with sis and bro-in-law. Tailgated and went to State game for first time in YEARS. Got some sweet tix in the Vaughan Towers. Watched an amazing game and had a great time drinking and tailgating. Then went out downtown Raleigh for the first time in a long time and had a surprisingly good time.

A little more driving than I'd like (Charleston to Whiteville, then to Raleigh, then back to Charleston), but it was all definitely worth it. Got a good balance of relaxing and playing in. Now counting down to the Christmas vacation.
