I completely agree that there is nothing wrong with websites for women. All I was saying earlier (and I don't think there could be much of an argument against this) is that there is absolutely 0 need for a pinterest-like site "for men" when Pinterest itself could be used for any things many men consider to be "manly" other than p0rn. The website is set up such that you can only follow feeds/boards/topics that you are interested in. If you and all your friends had a Pinterest account, you would only ever see those "manly" things that you are interested in seeing (regardless of what you see on the non-user generic homepage). The whole idea that men would need an entirely separate site, that functions the exact same way, just because the initial user-base of Pinterest was women is stupid.

I'm not really trying to be defensive. If you are browsing the generic home page, there is a lot of girly stuff and the majority of users are definitely girls. I also agree 100% that plenty of people wouldn't find a use for this site whether it was girly or manly or whatever.

I use the site a couple times a week and it serves it's purpose for me. I just think a lot of people who have never actually used the site think they know how it works or how most people use it. Of the people I know who use it, not very many (if any) people use Pinterest to see what's "trending" across the globe. There are plenty of other websites for that.

I use it to pin design and architecture related things that I am interested in and try and follow people who also share similar interests since I can get introduced to things that fall within my style that I might not have found otherwise. I really don't care what craft projects are trending across the world (but other people might). The nice thing about social media like this is that you can completely control what you see and make it your own. If you don't like the idea of this type of site functionality-wise, that's completely fine and a separate argument. I wouldn't expect everyone to. But, for some guys to turn around and make a "manly" pinterest clone (in which every aspect could have been done on pinterest) just seems like there are a bunch of "manly" guys who are working too hard to be "manly" and thus they can't use the same website as girls posting craft projects because they might accidentally see a picture of a throw pillow.

I get a lot of "porn" on my home page. Not that it's really porn but it's a lot of pictures of scantily clad, mostly naked women that people have posted under fitness usually saying stuff like "I want this body" or "this is my goal" If you're looking for a "porn" collection, just track it under fitness

case in point, I pinned a couple of swimsuits I like and this woman repinned it on her fitness board stating her "goal"

But I think she just likes to troll people she doesn't know IRL for entertainment, she likes drama. That is just her way. But maybe I am biased since she disapproves of my presence on her message boards.

Well, I don't think she's really as negative as you might think. Sure, here's an example of her not liking something but I've seen plenty of praise from her elsewhere for folks.

But she definitely calls things like she sees them-- it's just something to get used to.

Plus how can you sit there and judge her for being negative when you came in here to change the subject of the thread and call her a cunt. I mean, do you even like what sawahash posted? To be honest a lot of what's on pinterest is what's wrong with it... it's a lot of shitty crafts that are silly, and I have to wade through it everyday (because of the people I follow, a lot of them followed me and I chose "Follow Back" ) and the vogue magazine craft is just one of them. But sawahash made it, got something out of it, and and to each her own.

Why don't you just create a word document with pics of things you find online that you like with hyperlinks to the source?

I'm probably 80% pinning stuff on my own from other websites and 20% repins from other people. What has been nice though is that I have run across a handful of new vendors and blogs (moreso when I was new to the site) that cater to my interests after clicking on someone's pin to find out where it came from.
