i thought the first Johnson miss he "thought i'm gonna dunk this" then realized he's 4'-10" and just threw the ball at the basket. 1/29/2012 12:37:42 PM |

The thing is, the guy can seemlingly dunk pretty easily, there were videos before the season of him slamming it at the dail complex 1/29/2012 4:11:40 PM |

Sorry, I didn't get on the googler yesterday but today I am issuing Alex Johnson a chop.
Alex Johnson - Issued a chop. Offense: Trying to show off by attempting a finger roll on an uncontested layup and missing it because he lacks the skill to do so.
This chop has been ruled IRREVERSIBLE, meaning any future plays can not be used to offset this chop. This is because his offense cost us a game and his just general terrible play all season.
If Slave or heynow want to vote against this being a chop they can, but obviously anyone voting against this chop is crazy.

This thread is one of the most inane things I have seen in Sports Talk in years. I thought it would go away, in which case it would just be par for the course, but unfortunately that isn't the case. It just feels like trying too hard to invent some sort of meme - like wanting to be the guy who invents Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon and encouraging all your friends to play. But whatever, it's the internet. 2/10/2012 12:31:17 AM |

People keep bumping this stupid thread out of boredom, I guess. I've never even heard of "chops" until this thread. Apparently it's either a frat thing or something from some TV show watched by like 3 people.

He got a chop for that, didn't he? Now he' .8 rbs away from averaging a double-double while shooting 50% (but still picking up a few silly fouls each game). 2/20/2012 5:06:55 PM |

50% is not particularly good for a big since the vast majority of his shots are point blank 2/20/2012 11:08:32 PM |

Howell is a turrible finisher around the basket, never gets and ones, and misses free throws. if he could fix one of those he's MVP.
also add stupid fouls.

For the life of me, I can't understand why we don't run better in-bounds plays (or do we even run set plays?)
My high-school team had about a dozen in-bounds play from under the basket that we ran. Almost every time we ran them, we got an open shot. I don't think I've seen us run an in-bounds "play" all season. Mind-boggling, but maybe college teams just don't put as much emphasis on this.2/20/2012 11:27:07 PM |

Apparently you guys only recall the last few games because we have gotten quality close-to-the basket shots all season from our inbounds plays. Surprisingly, plays don't work as well when you play teams that are very good defensively. Of course, that's also why your high school team was so successful too.2/21/2012 8:17:19 AM |
