The guys over on espn use the comment section like a message board. 99% of the comments are an ongoing conversation between miami fans talking about the glory days of the u.

ACC football attendance was released today:
Quote :
"No. 15 Clemson (547,635) - 78,234
No. 16 Florida State (544,893) - 77,842
No. 28 Virginia Tech (397,398) - 66,233
No. 32 NC State (394,008) - 56,287
No. 33 North Carolina (392,000) - Fags
No. 39 Miami (340,576) - 48,654
No. 41 Georgia Tech (337,622) - 48,232
No. 43 Virginia (335,582) - 47,940
No. 51 Maryland (296,484) - 42,355
No. 65 Wake Forest (223,769) - 31,967
No. 68 Boston College (214,255) - 35,709
No. 79 Duke (170,748) - 24,393"

I dont think we are going to move from 4th anytime soon. There is a pretty big gap between 3-4 (VT-NCSU) and 4-5 (NCSU-MIAMI). Also, UNC's attendance is such bullshit. Nice that they have a good round number.

[Edited on January 24, 2012 at 2:43 PM. Reason : We are also currently 4th in ^ poll]

Their stadium does hold a good 5 or 6 thousand more than us. So to beat them in total attendance figures is pretty good.

my god. there is no way unc had that attendance this year. i guess i'll just accept that it's all bullshit statistics with no real value.

i even seriously doubt they SOLD 75% of their tickets. and only half of those sold tickets even attended.

Bible traveled all the way to CA to see him workout and offered him on the spot 2 years ago when he was a HS SR. Started both of his years at CSU. Numbers were "ok". Believe he got injured at some point last year. Would be a great addition to add some more competition.

Quote :
"Pete Thomas, who started two years at quarterback for Colorado State, will transfer to NC State, his personal QB coach George Whitfield confirmed to CBS Wednesday night.

The 6-5, 225-pounder will be eligible for the ACC school starting in the 2013 season. He figures to battle for the vacated starting QB job since Mike Glennon, who blossomed in 2011, will be a senior next year. Thomas started as a true freshman in 2010, and does have his redshirt year still available, which he will use in 2012.

The El Cajon, Calif. native also considered Vandy and UCLA among others. He will visit N.C. State this weekend to check out the campus and meet with the coaching staff.

Whitfield, who tutored former Auburn star Cam Newton to get ready for the NFL draft last year, has been training Thomas since the QB was an eighth grader. The coach praised Thomas' work ethic, focus and his accuracy.

In two seasons at CSU, Thomas completed 63 percent of his passes and threw for over 4,200 yards. His TD-INT ratio was 18-21 and he was sacked a head-shaking 71 times."

From what I remember about his recruitment...we were his leader, but he really wanted a USC offer. When he realized he wouldn't get that USC offer, he just randomly committed to Arizona State one day (I assume he decided he didn't want to go all the way to the East Coast...up until he committed, we felt we were a strong leader. I don't even think he committed on an official to ASU, but I could be wrong. Something just changed, quickly). A few weeks later, he changed his commitment to Colorado State.

IIRC, he was our #1 QB target out of high school

Does this mean the staff isn't high on Brosius, Taylor, and Stocker? Or is this guy that talented. I like his size and look. Can't really go by his stats there if he was on the run or the ground the whole time.

I think it might say something about Brosius.

I have heard (I know, I know) before we ever landed Stocker, that he was the first QB our staff fell in love with since Glennon. I don't think this would have anything to do with Stocker, Pete will be gone by the time Stocker is likely ready.

Cupboard is far from bare, what are you even talking about guy?

Quote :
"Senior defensive back C.J. Wilson of Lincolnton, N.C., junior wide receiver Tobais Palmer of Siler City, N.C., and redshirt freshman Bryan Underwood of University Heights, Ohio., will all participate in sprints during the two-day meet at UNC's Eddie Smith Field House.

All three were sprinters in high school. Palmer competed in sprints and relays last year for the Wolfpack, but neither Wilson nor Underwood have competed in track since arriving in Raleigh to join NC State head coach Tom O'Brien's football squad. Geiger is confident, if history is any indication, that all three can help his program, once they shake off the rust."

he did beat the shit out of us 2 years ago (we did come back), but that was a totally different team and coach.

A whole lot of quarterbacks have personal coaches. Especially if they are well-to-do white kids.

sorta weird that he played WR in college. But maybe that's good since in our pro offense, RB's double as WR's

He coached at a military school, which TOB likes. And they run the ball all the time.

They ranked 3rd in the nation in rushing yards per game. In 2011, seventeen players recorded a rushing statistic.
