Goodwin was great in the first half

Cauley-Stein showed flashes of awesomeness

Poythress and Noel should be fine as the season progresses

when a team loses it's top six players, it tends to play disorganized the following season

that said, this is the weakest UK team of the Calipari era, but fortunately it seems to be a pretty down year for college basketball across the board

Harrow played 10 mins, Mays played 30 mins.

Maybe we would have been better off with both of them.

Mays would've graduated already...Harrow would've still been emo...you really think they'd be better than LoZoBo and Lewis?

it's hard to be mad at mays, he transferred to wright state b/c he got recruited over, and then via a crazy scenario he got an opportunity to go play for kentucky. if i were a wright state fan i'd be pissed, but as a state fan i don't care.

harrow is a weird scenario. he was a guy that committed to us really early on, and stayed super solid throughout his recruitment (as far as we know), and then as soon as he got here started pouting (which i would have too if i played for sidney lowe), and then transferred the first chance he got. honestly i just feel bad for him. if he were killing it, i might be mad, but he looks like a kid that's just totally lost in life. i think i have such sympathy for him b/c he reminds me of my younger brother.

^^^ Everyone was in love with Harrow until he wrote that stupid letter to PackPride. From then on he just turned into a pouter. He was just a very immature kid. I was hoping for his sake the year off and being with Cal would mature him. I too feel bad for him.

Mays was also forced to play point guard here, when he is really a shooting guard. He won't have to play point this year unless Goodwin or Harrow gets hurt. Maybe even Poison.

On another note, great job ball hogging by P'Shon to not get pass to his three point specialist.

Mays will be fine at Kentucky. He'll give them solid minutes and hit a few shots. He's got that "old-man-Byron-Mouton" look out there.

It is funny to watch, but I do feel bad for Harrow. What a fucking vagina. In one of the UK All Access shows Calipari pointed to white bred and said "he played better than you" and inferred that he'd get Harrow's minutes. Well look what happened...

Kentucky still has a ton of talent that could make them a contender....but it's that point guard spot that is going to fuck them up. Their only shot is if Goodwin can step up and take the starting job.

Len is a beast. That might be Vandy's most valuable games to us. Rough that mother fucker up. Maryland is going to be a tough team, but their outside shooting sucks and Howard is a terrible point guard.

UNC looked like garbage last night. Even most of Macadoo's points were off of putbacks and transitiion. They are going to struggle this year and I'm going to love it. They're lucky all of college basketball is down this year or they would be looking at a struggle to make the NIT. Brown is going to absolutely destroy Paige...and I cannot wait.

Even though Len is a seven footer he is really more of a forward, and has more agility and perimeter range than I think Vandy can handle. Vandy will contribute in certain games and matchups, but I think we use a combination of CJL, Howell, and some zone against Len. Vandy and/or TDT may get spot minutes to keep fouls off of Leslie and Howell. Len hits FTs too so it isn't like we can just put him on the line.

McAdoo has zero post game it seems, but still manages to hustle up a decent amount of points and cleans up on the boards. He and CJL should be the most dominant big men in the ACC.

I hate to say it, but all of UNCs freshman this year look like they could be recruited over and then just transfer out.

i havent watched any of their games this year but in the exhibition joel james looked like he could be useful. everyone else looked shitty

not sure how mcadoo is putting up big numbers so far. maybe his athleticism combined with them having no other options allows him to dominate these scrub teams. or maybe he's legit. need to see him against a real team to find out

They are saying its the FLU ... wasn't that his diagnosis for half of our games 2 years ago...?

Happy to be looking to add a serious big right now instead of using that scholly on Harrow. Sounds like he really does have some growing up issues, and struggles to deal with hardship.

But I do wish him the best and hope for his sake that he'll be able to put in a solid year for UK, when they are not playing us in the NCAA championship game

Blood tests? Lack of energy? Sounds like Harrow might have something more serious than the flu.

Harrow had to miss games and I think even passed out from fatigue in HS. He could be overtraining or not getting the right nutrition, or it could be a more serious issue.
