did anyone ever stop to realize just how much of a social outlet this place is? how much of your day this website takes up? maybe not something you're doing hours upon hours, day after day (like BB) but it's something that is a routine for you, it's a place you relate to, it's a website through which you found some of your good friends.


so to keep getting asked "why do you keep coming back" is just one of a hundred stupid questions i've heard in the last year. i registered on this website in 2001. i was here before a lot of you people, and as a result i know a lot of people. TWW has become routine, it has become "habit", and because of that it is very hard to just let it go. to just "walk away". the same people who criticize me for coming back are probably the same people who would struggle to leave it alone in the same situation (with the same circumstances, of course).

i used to love this place, and even when i hated it i still loved it. i disliked the judgment and the rude comments, but i loved the friendships that managed to grow out of such hate.

i met the man i love on this website, and i went on to marry him. our relationship was far from perfect, and now the man i love is no longer my husband. not once have i said i am not at fault and i'm not the one to blame. but because i met him here, and because we know so many of you - our private lives became a matter of public record.

so in the way that Katie Holmes left Tom Cruise, my departure from my marriage and my subsequent divorce became a matter of public record. when you're struggling to figure things out in your life, come to terms with your mistakes, and ultimately forgive yourself for all the shit you did wrong - i agree, this isn't the place you want to visit with any regularity. but given my history with this site, my past and my life that is so sadly intertwined with The Wolf Web (like so many many other users who probably won't be willing to admit such a thing here)...honestly, given all the bullshit I've managed to deal with, live with, and try to overcome in the last year and a half, how can you be shocked that I can't stay away from this place?

aside from now ex-husband and my family, TWW has probably been the only real constant in my life for the last 10 years. i don't mean to say i have nothing in my life beyond that, but honestly - how many of you have been here that long, on this username or that username, and not logged in and checked things out? it isn't the kinda thing you just quit.

my actions, which resulted in the end of my marriage, are something i will never forgive myself for...and unfortunately, i have begun to associate TWW with my own self-hatred. i come here whenever i need a boost of hate.

and TWW never disappoints. not once have i been disappointed when coming back.

you ask why i can't just quit....for the same reasons you can't. for every 27 shitty things about this place, there are always 1 or 2 good things that you just can't let go of. and i'm sorry i keep coming back with different names and stupid things to say, but i think at least a few of you out there can understand what i'm trying to say - even if you still think i'm just some dumb whore.
