"bottombaby has a valid point...if you don't do anything wrong you won't get arrested...but valid in the way of you're 25 years old and spend time in prison 3 times. You're constantly getting arrested for drug possession, felony possession of a firearm...etc. With all of that happening you're still wondering why the cops keep harassing you."

Can someone break out a translator to tell me what the fuck this babble is supposed to mean?

"yes it has nothing to do with these types of fines being unfair on the poor, who are:

a. More likely to be stopped for bullshit
b. More likely to work a full-time minimum wage job where they can't afford to be fired, so they don't have time to "just go down town and wait in line."
c. More likely to not be able to afford a fine.

Remember, in the great country of the United States we are dumb enough to think it's fair to charge everyone the same amount for fines. So a man making $100,000 a year pays the same $250 tag fine as a man making $15,000 a year. But one of them may have to decide whether or not to pay the fine or put food on the table."

If you can't afford to take the time off then maybe you should have paid the $33 registration renewal fee for which you have 45 DAYS to do. People in this country are coddled enough. You only lead someone by the hand so much.

I would like to say,

I am not a huge fan of the vast majority of young police officers.

I'm sorry but many people born in my generation or after just don't seem to have the right values to pull it off.

To be quite honest Restricted seems like an awesome guy and i'm actually glad he's an officer of the law.

But my opinion on these sites being dumb as fuck has absolutely nothing to do with people who got arrested for petty crimes and show up on there. I have a DWI i was drinking i was driving and i deserve what i got and i don't even mind my mugshot being up there (if it is??). But the people who were suspected of a crime and were arrested having done no wrong and still have their face on one of these sites for it is fucked up.

I understand the police arresting and holding the husband of a lady that was murdered cause they fought the night before. But once he is cleared HE SHOULD BE CLEARED. He should not have a googleable record that says "arrested for murder" underneath a mug shot.

And if bottombabydoesn't agree with that... then i, too hope something happens to make her change her mind on that.

But is that right??

now you get taxed/bribed by a private party for being arrested?

i'd rather sue.

agreed

you need to be somewhat selfless. at least not completely self absorbed. be aware that you're (in spirit) there for the protection of people. you might be relegated to an armed tax collector, but the real important things you may need to do are only done well with a modicum of sympathy

i've never been arrested, never had a registration issue, haven't had a speeding ticket since the 90s. I ain't riding no high horse about with that herp derp bullshit about people have nothing to worry about if they git er dun. The people that work for all levels of government are the dregs of society. They are morons. They will fuck anything up, and it's just a matter of being unlucky, and some fucking overzealous cop ends up shooting a dog over a paperwork error by some trailer trash bitch named Edna.

The DMV suspended my license once for a ticket that was handled by an attorney, reduced to improper equipment, and paid.

I had no notification my license was suspended, like a year later get pulled by a state trooper on the belt line, who after bitching at me for slightly speeding informed me my license was suspended but he could see the underlying ticket was paid.

He also informed me I could be arrested and could not legally drive with it like that, but gave my license back and let me go to work. (which he could have kept and made me get picked up)

The bottom line is some stupid asshole at the courthouse that I work hard every day to pay their salary fucked up my paperwork. I blasted the attorney for what happened and they sent me all the paperwork they had which was clearly in order. (receipts, court orders, etc)

I still had to pay the DMV for license reinstatement which was another $100, the lawyer could not do anything about it either and the people at the court house do not give a shit. I also had to take all that paperwork to court to get the driving while license suspended ticket dismissed. (another day of missed work)

I think when the people at the court house fuck shit up they should be thrown in jail, they are technically breaking the law. (my ticket was handled and they broke the law by still suspending my license) So they should be cuffed, fingerprinted, photographed & have their photo put in the newspapers and online.

If they did not break the law they would have nothing to worry about.

Jesus Christ, I've been posting on TWW long enough that you guys should know better than this.

And yes, I think it's perfectly valid to list parking violators with sex offenders. Let's all eat babies to solve overpopulation.

^^/bb - I bet you think that girl in Texas that was thrown in Jail for 24 hours for being late to school deserved it even though her parents abandoned her and she was working two jobs and keeping her grades up.

Well, to characterize ALL government employees as morons and dregs is false. There are plenty of smart, competent government empoloyees. And yes, there are plenty of complete morons. Especially when it comes to to clerical issues. Which still isn't to say that ALL the clerks are morons. But yeah, a lot of them are.

I think this is the most appropriate thread: http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/story/2012-06-13/innocent-incarcerated-prisoners/55585176/1

Quote :
"Some of the prisoners USA TODAY contacted — and their lawyers — were stunned to find out that they were imprisoned for something that turned out not to be a federal crime. And their lawyers said they were troubled by the idea that innocence alone might not get them out."

Quote :
"Rand, the U.S. attorney in Greensboro, said he is "not aware of any procedural mechanism by which they can be afforded relief," though he said lawyers in his office "have not been pounding on the table" to keep the men in jail."

Quote :
"A USA TODAY investigation, based on court records and interviews with government officials and attorneys, found more than 60 men who went to prison for violating federal gun possession laws, even though courts have since determined that it was not a federal crime for them to have a gun."

I can see the points in both sides but I have to say getting arrested and hassled over such bullshit is nuts. The whole system is fucked and I don't know why it's not a bigger issue.
