Hope this works and only b/c I love Halloween. Fully homemade costume, minus the shoes and lamp. I also made the crazy extension ponytail.
I also sewed a pretty awesome Aladdin costume.

I made a Robin costume for this year's Halloween. More specifically, Carrie Kelley from The Dark Knight Returns. (If you are into Batman and haven't seen it yet, you should check it out. It is amazing.)
Everybody looks so great! I love ladies that can think past "slutty" for costumes.

I wish I hadn't shaved my facial hair, I was thinking of going as Bill the Butcher from Gangs of New York, since people tell me I kinda look like daniel day lewis.
now i'll probably do something lame like go as the joker since my hair is still long. 10/29/2012 10:49:50 PM |

Ended up on Franklin St. Have a friend who is a grad student there who could get us a classroom with a big projector to watch scary movies on before going out to the street.
Our crew:
Dr. Who & Wikipedia (with pens attached so people could edit him all night):
Iron Man:
Mitt Romney:
Sonic screw driver:
With Thor & Loki...got shots with many Captain Americas & a few Hulks too (got about 100 pics from tonight but I'm sparing Tdub my usual bulk of halloween pics this time )
Binders full of women:

I did see a few other Thors, some that went all out, but that was the only Loki/Thor combo on the street, so we had to get a pic together. There was a lady Captain America nearby too. Here's the wikipedia costume post editing (what survived of it). 11/1/2012 7:42:16 PM |

Stole this from halloweenforum.com.. http://www.halloweenforum.com/halloween-costume-ideas/122805-incredible-hulk-costume.html The poster (Hulk) and his friends did a great job as the Avengers IMO.
I went to Franklin Street last night also. It kind of sucked to me. It's definitely going downhill. I saw very few costumes I liked. I saw a pretty good Luke Skywalker & Princess Leia, Space Ghost, Ted, and Optimus Prime.
More Franklin Street pics on WRAL.. http://www.wral.com/news/local/image_gallery/11724514/

I saw very, very few Psy costumes (societal awareness in effect, perhaps).
However - for whatever reason - I saw at least 10 male sailor costumes (groupon in effect, perhaps). 11/1/2012 8:53:44 PM |

Franklin St. was terrible and I will never go back (I assume that's what the police are going for, and they're doing a damn good job)
My gf lives in Carrboro, so we went out there (otherwise I would have stayed in Raleigh)
Basically, a lot of the officers were being douchebags, and the fucking biker cop gang that was parading up and down the street was absolutely ridiculous. 11/1/2012 10:55:34 PM |

Chapel hill will never be as crazy as 2005 NCAA championship. I think there was literally 80,000 people on franklin st that night. fucking insane. Thats the real date they started cutting back how cool it used to be.

Went to Hillsborough Hike and talked to the director. He said it was the largest turnout they had ever had. You fools are missing out going to Chapel Hill.
I was a penguin and saw like 4 other penguins. All we needed was Morgan Freeman. 11/1/2012 11:04:23 PM |

Looks like it used to be bigger. This year I've heard different estimates saying Franklin Street was down to the 20 to 30 k range, but still a lot bigger than ECU's 1,500 (down from their peak of 10k). I think being in the middle of the week probably hurt turnout across the board.
Anyone seen estimates on the Hillsborough St turnout? Got any pictures from it?11/1/2012 11:16:25 PM |

back in the mid and late 90s i did Halloween on Franklin St. for multiple years. There was nothing on Hillsborough or in Raleigh that compared (as a far as I know, although Greenville was rivaling). I had a few friends at UNC at the time, and it was wild, but I'm glad to hear that Hillsborough St. is competing with Franklin now! 11/1/2012 11:27:17 PM |

I've had more fun doing the Hillsborough Hike on Halloween than I ever did on Franklin St, even though it isn't as big.
of course I'm too old to do that kind of stuff anymore

Yeah, I could honestly not care less about the size of the event.
The mindblowing police state which was Franklin St. last night created such a negative vibe. There were seriously 10-12 bike cops doing nothing but driving fast up and down the street with their lights and sirens on.

So while one random person was editing the Wikipedia costume using one of the attached pens on a string, we all saw someone dressed as the Tardis sort of nearby, and Wikipedia asked the Dr. Who in our group "I wonder if she's bigger on the inside" not realizing the person editing Wikipedia was there with the Tardis chick. 11/2/2012 6:26:05 PM |
