the pope literally said that freedom of expression was a "fundamental human right" in the same statement, he just said you shouldn't be a jerk about what you freely chose to express

he also didn't condone violence, he literally said "it's true, one can not react violently" and only said that if people do because they were provoked that it's something normal and you shouldn't be surprised

Now France is drenching itself in hypocrisy, arresting 50+ people for the crime of "glorifying terrorism" with their words. The central case is of one Dieudonne M'Bala, a comedian who posted on facebook, "As far as I'm concerned, I feel like Charlie Coulibaly."

But let's take a look at one issue that nobody else seems to be addressing. We've been hearing a lot about this French humor magazine, Charlie Hebdo, and now this French comedian, Dieudonne, and we've been shown their material. And it has caused me to look into other French humor outlets, both translated and in the original. And I have come to realize something.

The French are the least funny people on the planet (excluding perhaps Ravi Chittilla)

Seriously, look at Charlie Hebdo. It's like an even stupider version of MAD magazine, which is already the least funny publication in America because at least most of the other ones carry Dilbert.

The only fair way to handle the situation in France is for the government to ban any attempt at humor by their own people. It's for their own good.

Ok so some of us have been talking about lawsuits for a while now, but one lawsuit that nobody expected was the CITY of PARIS suing Fox News.

Wait, WTF?

And oh by the way, there was previous litigation relating to defamation of Muslims under French Law by Charlie Hebdo, but it was thrown out on appeal on the theory that the magazine wasn't mocking all Muslims, just extremists so the magazine could continue publication.
