Pride was insane in SF this past weekend. It's definitely changed from being a political protest for gay rights into to a corporate sponsored party where everyone seems welcome. I'd say the straights even outnumbered the gays, but I don't have any hard data to prove it. Some of my gay friends are complaining that it's not fun anymore since it's filled with so many teenagers and straight people, but I think it's actually a good thing that everyone wants to party and show solidarity. I thought the whole point of fighting for gay rights was to feel inclusive/accepted, but I guess I can see where it's annoying to have to share the party with people who treated you like shit just a few years ago.

They're puppets so they don't have genitals, but they definitely provided a framework for young people to understand that sometimes dudes live together in the place next door.

I probably coulda used some lesbian archetypes. One of my favorite things to do as a kid was to point out lesbian couples and announce that they were "lessssssbian loooovers" while I wiggled my eyebrows and giggled.

So how does stamping a piece of paper infringe on someones religious freedom? No one is making the clerk become a lesbian or quit her choice. She's welcome to pray for jesus and attend any anti-gay rally she wishes. I just don't understand how doing your job and signing a certificate violates ones morals.

I also laugh how all the GOP clowns are flocking to support this woman, desperate to find some issue to gain support from lower class (mostly white and likely rural) Christian americans who really don't benefit from most republican policies.
