Alright, let's keep this in perspective. Players transfer, it's the landscape of college basketball. We have had transfers both in and out of our program for the last few years. Even Duke has had its share of transfers:

2015 - Rasheed Sulaimon
2014 - Semi Ojeleye
2014 - Alex Murphy
2012 - Michael Gbinijie

Said something about the offensive scheme.

I wonder where they will end up. I assume they will look to go to the same team again.

Maryland had all those players transfer and look at them now. But again, this is State we're talking about

well he is 100% correct about that. they are long athletic wings forced to run a b.s. halfcourt high post offense. uptempo small ball would be great for them.

Oof . Gottfried has to be fired now I think... it's just out of control. What is he doing to run these guys off?!

Not gonna be able to recruit anymore with all these transfers abandoning ship

The difference is that Duke reloads every year and has the best coach in the country

We have players from lsu, Alabama, Charlotte, WVU.. It's how basketball is. Sucks that they're a package deal. But if we land another 1-2 then we're fine.

Or fire him. Whatever

i think he recruits over players and the guys that are recruited over don't wanna stay. maybe he promised the Martin's playing time and now they see writing on the wall that their minutes will go down next year. rather than take reduced minutes and contribute to a a really good team with title aspirations (like somebody might at, say, UNC) a player that gets recruited over at a mediocre program says "fuck it, imma go start somewhere else". it sucks

who was gonna play over them?

WE HAVE NO ONE COMING IN AT THEIR POSITIONS

[Edited on March 24, 2016 at 3:50 PM. Reason : but i forgot that gott loves him some maverick, no matter how shitty he is.]

Sucks to lose the twins ... they'd be great depth if nothing else. Really thought Cody could be a great PF if we played small ball. Gotta think they took a look at Dorn and Henderson and realized their playing time was about to be cut in half.

So I guess we're back to being one injury away from another dumpster fire. We can go 7-8 deep, but it's gonna get ugly if one of the guards gets hurt.

Smith / Dorn?
Dorn / Mav
Henderson / Mav / Kirk
Abu / Anya / Kirk?
Freeman / Anya

between Dorn and Henderson, their minutes were gonna go down some, right? not exactly the same position, but you can see where their arrival would mean less minutes/shots/etc for the Martins.

Who knows about Freeman, and I would think Mav would see the most minutes lost. Cats minutes won't all be replaced by DSJ, so Henderson and Dorn will take some of those too.. But maybe gott does love Mav that much

^^he does. it's gross.

we're going to be terrible next year, so wherever they go, they'll probably be better off.

it sucks to lose the martins...but were they gonna start next year? that's what i'm talking about when i said they might be losing minutes.

DSJ
Henderson
Mav
Abu
Anya

maybe Caleb starts over Mav, but that wasn't the case down the stretch this year. i don't wanna see the Martins go, but I can see where they saw a smaller role for themselves next year.

I think Mav had to play for spacing. With Henderson and Dorn also being shooters it kinda makes Mav less valuable. But again, gott likes who he likes so I guess we'll see.

I'd go Cody at 4 and Anya on the bench.. But that's just me

I think they end up somewhere where Caleb is pretty much the star of the team and Cody is a solid starter. In my mind that's a mid-major somewhere.

Saw some grumblings on Packpride that Gottfried's "infidelity" is having an effect on morale, etc.

Which was also posted on Packpride in reply, which ^^ did not bother to read.

But I'd agree that Gott has gone downhill after his divorce. Of course that can happen when you're a Family oriented gentleman like Gott is, or was.

I don't buy that for a second. I wouldn't be shocked to learn that some players do have real issues with Gott as a coach...but I don't buy then shit about his "infidelity".

like JT3bucky said in a different thread...assuming Abu doesn't go pro, this should still show his mindset. and i think it's reasonable to expect him to be gone next season. which makes signing a big man recruit more important this offseason (or a transfer). can't afford to go into '17/'18 with all freshmen big men.

Just realized of the 7 ACC teams that made the tournament, only Syracuse was in our division (though Notre Dame isn't in either division)

Swimming and Diving finished 4th nationally. Didn't know where to post this. Wrestling had an outstanding season. The non-revenue sports are really improving under Debbie. Wish we could get football, basketball, and baseball on track.

I thought we were slipping in the director's cup standings? Maybe that was just based on fall sports.

i think our bad basketball season and women's bball not making the tourney will hurt our director's rankings when those seasons end.
