but for real though, I don't want this site to end. I've actually met people in the real world who graduated from state and frequented this site. One of which is the mom of my daughters best friend.

I only stopped lurking and started posting after TWW's Golden Age, but I also do not want to see the site go away. Like someone else said, I always just assumed TWW would go on forever and one day I would give my login to a dear family member in my will.

I think a one time a year pledge drive is the way to go.

Wow... Is there really no way to make any money off this website? Why can't adsense or whatever be used?

Someone give me the low down on howhat much traffic this website drives..

Also, can't you just dump the hosting of all the pictures on here? Wouldn't that save a ton of money...

Also a lot of the functionality like books, school tool, etc... easy way to just disable it?

once you get rid of books, calendar, school tool, and photo gallery, you have a basic, free web forum from the early 2000s. Should be easy to make happen. Hell, I haven't checked in 10 years but I'd be willing to bet this is much worse than your typical free messageboard out there today.
