That pass would have been legal to a player out of bounds but not to a player inbounds

'ol justinh...not knowing what the fuck he was talking about again.

I know the first time he did it the Clemson guy had his whole foot out of bounds...didn't see it the second time. Clemson should get the ball just to punish Dorn for being an idiot again.

I have two thoughts about how that game finished...one is that I'm not worried about us finishing games. We beat two much better teams by holding onto leads already this year. Last night was a comedy of errors and I think its an aberration. They hit every shot and we missed free throws, committed turnovers, and had dumb fouls. We're 2/3 in end game situations and the two came against top 5 teams. That was a fluke.

Second...I do have one problem with our end of game strategy...I don't like our full court man-to-man at the end. It encourages them to go full speed to the basket and creates the possibility for easy baskets. During the game you're looking for turnovers and to disrupt their offense....but at the end of the game they don't really have a set offense and you're prohibiting them from eating up clock. Have our guys set and pick them up at half court.

I was thinking this morning, just about every player made a big mistake in the last 30 seconds: Freeman going for the score instead of working clock and missing front end of 1-1, Yurt celebrating instead of playing D (and maybe dribble to corner?), Dorn pass, Hunt foul/travel. Beverly safe maybe. remembered he fouled a 3pt shooter too...

However they all made great plays the rest of the game that put us on position to make mistakes and still win, AND WE WON!

Sorry - I meant to say the travel call was the make up call. The foul call was extremely weak.

He reached out and grabbed his shooting arm on the way up. It was a dumb foul and a pretty obvious call.

I know we are used to getting boned by the refs but there was nothing wrong with the end of game reffing there. They missed the inbounds stuff but it was egregious and the bigger problem was our boneheadedness. Both calls against hunt were legit.

hunt shuffled his feet. it was slight and probably goes uncalled a lot, but it happened. the problem was, we shouldn't be inbounding to him...he's a shaky ball handler compared to some of our other options.

I completely agree with this, and was yelling as much at the TV. You have a lead, with minimal time left - do not full court press.

I wouldn't think you can bounce pass the ball out of bounds can you? That was too close for comfort at the end but glad we somehow hung on. By the end of the game espn said we have beaten three straight top 20 teams. Guess that means we don't have to watch the UVA game since we know how it ends.

fyi, I think on one of the botched inbounds plays, we couldn't get it in so we passed it off the Clemson player and then it went out of bounds again, just buying us some time. But the inbounder could no longer move his feet or pass it to another player out of bounds because it was no longer a possession after a made basket, since he had thrown it off the Clemson player.

I noticed this live but just rewatched it to confirm.

During Clemson's late comeback, the commentators said absolutely nothing during the huge 5 point possession Clemson had to cut the lead to 7 with 1:19 left. It was like they thought the game was over and stopped paying attention.
