If we beat ECU will the hype meter go through the roof around here???
5/28/2022 9:50:03 AM
Ehh. I think the hype meter is already fairly high. Beating a team that we’re double digits favorites against probably wouldn’t change a whole lot. If we win like 38-0 then that might change things.

I'm ok with all of this EXCEPT losing the Wake Forest game. Literally tied for 2nd-longest active streak in college football history, has survived 2 world wars, 2 global pandemics, and lord knows what else just for it to end to some dumb conference realignment hype with the hopes of getting a better team to the CFP. Yeah right.
6/28/2022 12:00:20 PM
Yep. I don't give half a shit about playing Duke. I'm sure we've played some OOC teams more since ACC expansion than we've played Duke (4 times.) Would much, much, much prefer to play Wake. ACC killed the duke rivalry in 2004 and now they're trying to kill the longest played rivalry in children's history.
6/28/2022 12:11:30 PM
I like our pod fine. Fuck Wake is my opinion, honestly.
6/28/2022 12:15:37 PM
Sorry that i care about history. And don't care about playing Duke. At all.
6/28/2022 12:36:43 PM
Apology accepted. Not
6/28/2022 1:08:33 PM
I would be madder if I was Wake. that pod suckssssss
6/28/2022 1:08:48 PM
Clemson must be PISSED. No divisions and STILL they have to play is every year??Poor fellas
6/28/2022 1:50:04 PM
I realize this is a #selfown as a State fan. And also comes across as typical State fan conspiracy theorist. But UNC seems to have the easiest pod for sure.
6/28/2022 1:50:51 PM
Bw them and Pitt probablyAm I allowed to post this here? Next 4 years in this thread. Still play wake next 2 years.
6/28/2022 1:55:40 PM
Dumb
6/28/2022 2:21:50 PM
Maybe we can schedule wake ooc so Justin's feelings don't get hurt
6/28/2022 2:50:10 PM
NC giving $15 mil to the ACC (not sure where else to post this)
6/28/2022 8:53:41 PM
I mean is Duke now our basketball rival instead of Wake?
6/28/2022 9:07:58 PM
Not just Justin, I'm mad about this too. Most State fans I've seen online are ambivalent or happy, but personally, I've kind of accepted that an ACC team has a realistic shot to make the CFP maybe every 2-3 years, and NC State is just not gonna be nationally relevant for any extended period of time. Things may be different for this year, and who knows -- maybe we can turn that into something. But personally, I think most of the ACC right now is just fringe CFP talent at best. Given that, personally, I would rather enjoy what little history and tradition we do have rather than eschewing it for something that's a pipedream anyways.
6/29/2022 7:40:17 AM
I suppose that ND just remains a "name brand" non-conference game that is legally required to play a certain amount of ACC games?
6/29/2022 8:06:45 AM
For now, yes, but the current revision is only through 2026. So seems like that's the target date to get them by. Their deal to play 1 ACC team a year is through 2036
6/29/2022 8:51:29 AM
There’s been an ACC team in every single CFP except for this past season. I don’t think there’s any real reason to believe that the ACC (specifically Clemson) will no longer be a perennial CFP factor. Especially considering the CFP is likely to expand soon.
6/29/2022 11:52:11 AM
Yes, but I don't like the way things are trending. Clemson is down, and the SEC and Big10 seem to be dominating recruiting more than ever. Miami may bounce back with NIL, but I can't say I'm very optimistic for the future of the ACC compared to the others
6/29/2022 12:46:13 PM
Clemson is only down because they DJ Uiagalelei isn't good. As soon as they find somebody who is better they will be good again.[Edited on June 29, 2022 at 1:00 PM. Reason : Well that combined with Dabo's outdated views of the transfer portal and commits taking visits ]
6/29/2022 12:59:09 PM
Yeah, mostly talking about his view on transfers/promotions etc. He's begrudgingly moving forward, but not muchAlso forgot to mention, if they're expanding the CFP anyways, then there's no real need to change to a format which facilitates getting an ACC team in, imo
6/29/2022 1:31:23 PM
Fuck Wake Forest. Havent been this happy since Maryland left the conference
6/29/2022 6:51:01 PM

7/26/2022 4:58:17 PM
Complete disrespect of the Pack. Shameful effort by the media. It will only fuel us to the greatest season ever.
7/26/2022 6:22:40 PM
Good news is our season will be over by 10/2
7/26/2022 6:32:21 PM
It would be unprecedented to name us national champions that early, but I guess it's possible??
7/26/2022 6:42:44 PM
To be serious for a moment. Even with an L at Clemson (which, while incredibly unlikely I will admit that it is possible) the season would hardly be over. 7-1 could definitely be good enough to win the division this year. Clemson will be really good. But I don’t think they’ll be nearly as dominant as they were prior to 2021.
7/26/2022 7:56:21 PM
A division title at 7-1 with a loss to Clemson prob means they finish 6-2. Which is unlikely if they beat us. Clemson is a must win. We’d be better off at 7-1 with a loss to Louisville or GT.[Edited on July 27, 2022 at 7:11 AM. Reason : Re: tiebreakers ]
7/27/2022 7:10:46 AM
You are right, beating Clemson is extremely important as far as tiebreakers go. I just don’t think Clemson going 6-2 is out of the question. But. This is all silly. We’ll be 15-0 when it’s all said and done.I do think the ACC, particularly the Atlantic, will be better this year. BC, UL, FSU all should be improved. Cuse still sucks. Wake is good but I kinda expect them to take a step back with other conference opponents improving (ie, more chances for losses for them) but maybe I’m underestimating them. [Edited on July 27, 2022 at 7:45 AM. Reason : A]
7/27/2022 7:40:29 AM
Traveling to bumfuck Syracuse immediately following Clemson and FSU reeks of shutting the bed but every game will feel like they until it doesn’t.
7/27/2022 7:49:17 AM
Syracuse has been a weirdly close game the last few years for some reason. Other than 2021:2020 - @ SYR W, 36 - 292019 - vs SYR W, 16 - 102018 - @ SYR L, 41 - 512017 - vs SYR W, 33 - 25It hasn't been since 2015-16 that we beat the Orange 2x in a row by > 1 score, which to me is a surprisingly long time to go against a team that's had a winning season exactly once (2018) in that timeframe.
7/27/2022 8:00:09 AM
2019 we sucked. 2018 they were pretty good (went 10-3). So that definitely explains some of it.
7/27/2022 8:44:16 AM
Clemson is good, but they still have DJ Uiagalelei at QB. Until they replace him, Clemson is beatable.
7/27/2022 10:21:05 AM
Cade Klubnik is a true freshman QB for Clemson. One of the best QBs in his class. But Dabo has seemed more loyal to the upper class men QBs in the past (Cole Stoudt playing over Deshaun Watson in 2014, Kelly Bryant over Trevor Lawrence in 2018). But yeah DJU was broken last year. Their offense was broken. I think Shipley is really good but without a legit passing threat Clemson will be beatable. Their defense should still be dominant. And they’re pretty loaded with talent across the board. But with new coordinators and major questions at QB, they aren’t nearly as scary as they were a couple years ago

I;ll echo the point about clemson not having a great offense and not likely being able to put up enough points in a game against us._____also, why all the love for shipley at RB? he didnt show much last year to me. Just think there are others in the league that deserve a look.
7/28/2022 12:03:27 PM
Since Clemson's passing game left so little to be respected, it allowed defenses to key in on him
