Sundays too, 'late' game usually starts around 1230. Sometimes weekday games that start at 3. Neither of the games tomorrow are super interesting though.

No, European soccer doesn't really work that way, closet analog would be the Champions League final.

Domestic leagues are settled strictly by regular season play. This is just a late season game between the teams currently in first and second place who between them have the last 6 PL trophies (Liverpool 1 City 5 . )

Confusingly there also domestic tournaments that have finals but they aren't nearly as important to teams/fans as the premier league title. Champions league is pretty important but I think most English teams would rather when the Premier league if they had to pick one.

Looking at the schedules, Arsenal has a brutal path to a potential title. Away matches against City, Tottenham, Brighton, and United and home matches against Aston Villa and a slightly resurgent Chelsea side. City could drop points at Tottenham and Brighton, and Liverpool face two tough tests at West Ham and Aston Villa.

The next must-see Premier League match is Arsenal vs Man City on March 31. Besides that, Man United and Liverpool face off on Sunday in the FA Cup.

This summer's Euros will feature two groups of death: B and D. England have been knocking on the door of major tournament championships lately. This could be their year. But France, Spain, title holders Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Croatia, the Netherlands, and the hosts Germany will have something to say about that (such a scary list, right?). I would like to see Modric finally win a major international trophy with Croatia after several close chances.

Born in and spent half my childhood in England. Been an England fan all my life. Its not happening, lol. England are the Tottenham of international football -- just good enough to get your hopes up and on paper, a really stacked team. Just always fails when it counts (and I'm a Tottenham fan too lol. I'm just realistic).

"In the 2023-24 season, the average match is featuring 27 shots and three-plus goals. Everyone, up and down the table, is scoring goals for fun. But in the second match between arguably the two best teams in the league? Arsenal and Man City combined for 18 attempts and not a single goal. Their three combined shots on target was tied for the fewest of any match this season. "

Penalty shootouts have been their Achilles heel in major tournaments, twice recently against the Italians and twice in the '90s against the Germans.

Quote :
"England have been involved in 10 penalty shootouts over three different competitions since 1990, and they have only won three of them. This gives them a win rate of only 30 percent, which is incredibly low for such a strong side."

Most important prob Liverpool/United, historic rivals. Liverpool currently in first place; giany back in the day then perpetually on the cusp until Klopp (his last season) brought them back to greatness. United was THE team of the Premier league era for awhile, winning something like 13 PL titles from 93-2013, but now can't seem to get back to the top despite being one of the richest clubs in the world. At united, fans will be eager to knock Liverpool off their perch

Arsenal is in 2nd and will go to Brighton. I don't expect much but Brighton is one of the better run/scouted clubs in England, just don't have the funds to keep up, they have some players but have been on the a bad run.

Most fun might be Newcastle Fulham, two teams that score pretty well but don't defend particularly well

United can't defend and they are mentally as soft as Charmin.

They had the game against Chelsea (who I support and who are also mentally soft) in the bag and still conceded two late goals to snatch defeat from victory.

Their defense is in shambles, Varane and Evans went off injured and they were already thin at CB.

If Liverpool don't get all 3 points it would be a bottle job.
