^^^

I think it makes sense in the spectrum of society. Religion is pre-packaged morality which is probably all a lot of people can handle. If someone is more reflective and introspective they can get the good stuff— but I don’t think it’s possible to force deep thought onto a big chunk of the populace

It’s like the Yellowstone park rangers said… there’s some overlap between the smartest bears and dumbest humans

MAGA does love both adulterers and protective pedophiles, so maybe the Taliban is a step above them.

^^without God, there is no objective moral truth

^apparently you haven't heard about the child brides of Afghanistan or their Sunni belief that the false prophet Muhammad slept with a 9 year old girl

^^That is patently false my dude.

You don’t need a deity to guide your morals. No supreme being should dictate how anyone should go about being a good person.

Both the Bible and the Qur’an contain passages that direct attrocious behavior to women as well as specific races of people, and also non-believers.

How were Mary, Queen of Scotts’ morals when she was murdering all those poor folks who weren’t stepping in line? I bet the Taliban feel like their morals are in line with Allah’s.

As a matter of fact….it seems to me that morals that derive from religion end up causing so much more harm to humanity than any other sort of morals.

Nope, without a divine standard of right and wrong, we’re just left with our opinions. And you didn’t just try to convince me of your view by citing Mary Queen of Scot as an example. You must have missed my remarks about the Pope.

Oh yeah, atheists have set a much better example of morality. About 100 million killed thanks to these three alone.

Quote :
"Joseph Stalin (USSR): Under his leadership, the Soviet Union—an officially atheist state—was responsible for an estimated 62 million deaths through execution, deliberate starvation, and labor camps.

Mao Zedong (China): The explicitly atheist state of Mao's People's Republic of China is linked to approximately 35 million deaths between 1948 and 1976.

Pol Pot (Cambodia): Led the Khmer Rouge, which sought to abolish religion and was responsible for the deaths of up to 2 million people"

Clearly none of you got enough PHI205 your freshman year. Next you'll be in here quoting John Rawls.

But the source of the misdirections is a deep desire to say the N word, hard r, to a Black person
