Quote :
"i dont think any of them are dead. Lana appears in the 3rd Superman movie (back in the old day) and DC comics are strict as hell a/b that shit. THey wouldnt let them mess up their story like that."

They were so strict that they allowed a show that had Clark and Lex as good friends when he lived in Smallville, Lex living in Smallville, Lois meeting Clark well before he became a reporter, and a character who had never previously existed in any form whatsoever? Pretty strict. Lanas obviously not dead, but this is awful logic as the reason why.

Besides, if DC is going to refer to anything as canon that cant be tampered with, I really doubt they are going to be waving a copy of Superman III around, a movie that they had very little if any input in.

Quote :
"I thought that Martha Kent became senator after Jonathan Kent died anyway? Was I mistaken? I thought she definitely got some kind of political position."

That whole time Jonathan was running against Lex, it was never made clear whether it was a state senator or US senator. It made sense for Jonathan to run for state senator, but Lex would only consider a US senator seat...I think it was kept pretty ambiguous for that reason. Obviously, it turned out to be a state senate seat, and now Martha is being asked to take over for the US senator from Kansas who was killed.

lana could be alive in any number of ways,

1.) TRAP DOORS
2.) DIMENSIONAL PORTALS
3.) THE FLASH, DUH PEOPLE.
4.) THAT MAIL TRUCK
5.) SHE DID IT TO ESCAPE LUTHOR CORP.
6.) THAT WASN'T LANA

care to add...

^ that's immediately what i thought of. just made it so obvious she didn't die. but what about the body? surely lionel should have known about that before talking to clark. makes me think lionel knows lana is still alive

Im just tired of Lana...

So is Clark still on high school on this? Because the guy that plays him has to be pushing 30 by now.

No, they're in college/out in the real world now. They haven't been in high school for 2-3 seasons at this point.

^^^^Yeah, the female eye candy is nice, but at this point I'm ready to see some long overdue superman-style asskicking, instead of wheeling out the next seasonal cutie actress to incite the presumed raging hormones of the target audience.

Not a bad episode except for the unnecessary Bizarro grabbing Lois' ass and the giant wtf moment when we see Lana in China.

I don't really remember myself actually... but this is what I found on tv.com:

Quote :
"Clark discovers the reason Lana married Lex then and sets out to kill Lionel. Lex tries to use DNA from the last phantom to power his super-soldiers. Lois goes to a dam to search for Lex's lab but is caught by a security guard and fatally injured. Chloe's power is discovered."

Yes, Lana pretty much fully about Clark, his powers, and abilities. This episode was actually pretty good. I wish the Bizarro and Clark fight scene could have been a lil longer, with a few more blows. The one super punch was nice but Clark only got one blow.

Loved the scene where clark evaporated the the flood water.

Good show, good episode, ready for more-however I can take less of the "Maybe I am bad" mantra Clark says at the end of every episode when he felt as if he wanted to kill someone.

So Bizarro and Supe girl fly instantaneously - I am beginning to then Clark is a lil bit slow...

Well he's been able to fly for a while, he just doesn't know how. I think the first time he levitated was at least 2 or 3 seasons ago.

No, Clark does not know how to fly...when he is not "Clark" he has flown, but in the natural character he can't fly....

Yes, Lana faked her own death

everyone who watches the show regularly knew lana didn't die. they do that kind of thing at the end of every season. remember the van that drove by her car just before it blew up last season? i can't believe they saved her for the end of the episode, like everyone would be "she's still alive??"

^^I think thats what he meant...Clark's body can fly, but Clark himself doesnt know how to make it happen.

Usually with this show the premiere/finale is a guaranteed great episode...I didnt think this one was. The good moments were all outweighed by the typical Smallville roll eye moments. Like Chloe being toe-tagged and shoved in the morgue before they even attempted to tell Lois or Clark that she was dead....followed by the revolve around Clark where I was totally expecting him to fly through the roof and spin the world around backward. Then later when Lois acted like Chloe had never even been in the hospital when she saw her alive...way to care about your cousin, and of course the cheezy shot of Lana in China that looked really awful and then the wig removal...as if we had no idea who she was.

I just hope that if this turns out to be the last season, they get enough notice to at least attempt a proper ending.

No, I knew Lana wouldn't die my question was did somebody try to kill her or did she stage it herself.

A few seasons back there was an episode when he was levitating next to his bed while asleep and there was another one when I think Lex was driving at night and he almost hit him because he was levitating above the road while sleeping. There were a few more too, I can't remember them. They were around the time when he discovered those caves. His body is able to fly, he just doesn't know how to control it.

Oh and I was really hoping that at some point he would have thrown a cellophane "S" symbol at Bizarro which would have wrapped around him, fallen to the floor, then completely disintegrated.

my previous comment wasn't in reference to yours, i was just commenting on how nobody would believe she really died at the end of last season. almost every season they seem to "kill" people at the end only to have them somehow survive at the beginning of the next one.

In response to the above quote though, i definitely think she staged it herself. but she probably would have had to have help. maybe lionel helped her and showed up as a cover story, or someone associated with lex helped her disappear. either way, i don't think that car explosion was an attempt on her life, it was a setup so she could disappear.

I would like to add that it seemed that Clark knows Lana is alive, he was not even slightly concerned as far as I can remember. I wonder if he is in on the cover-up somehow.

Clark practically started to cry at one point when she was brought up by Chloe (I think it was).

He thinks she's dead.

eh, if you have the time. make sure you at least see the "Justice" episode. that's the one with Flash, Aquaman, Green Arrow and Cyborg. after that episode the season seemed to drag on

So, the black guy with red eyes is Martian Manhunter? Did I miss his entrance? I remember an episode from last season when he was seen in silhouette, though.

he made a few appearences last season. the first one where he actually talked to Clark was when a phantom took over Clark's body and made him think he was in a mental asylum. before that he was only seen real quickly in a couple of episodes

I'm kind of ashamed that I still watch this show. It has become too cheesy and weird. The last 3 minutes with "supergirl" was very childish and weird.

new episode tonight. has anyone else noticed that clark was able to get over lana's "death" pretty easily? i mean for a girl he'd been in love with since almost the time he arrived in smallville, he sure accepted it and moved on with his life pretty quickly

So how did she shoot the kryptonite with her heat vision? When Clark tried that a few seasons ago, it bounced back and blinded him.
