not for long man, duke is on a slippery slope to becoming a perpetual sweet 16 team.

every time the announcer says chism on the florida/tenn game, it sounds like jism. Really bothering me.

Man, I hate Big 10 basketball but that atmosphere in Champaign is sick... good game going on too.

Also, I gotta say Dick Enberg is probably one of my favorite announcers. His call at the end of the UCLA/A&M game in the tourney last year was awesome...

Dick Enberg was the full time radio announcer for UCLA men's basketball back in the Wooden Era.

In 1968, Enberg was recommended by UCLA athletic director J. D. Morgan to be the national broadcaster for the TVS Television Network to cover the "Game of the Century" between the Houston Cougars and the UCLA Bruins. This was his start in television. You can tell that Enberg got his start in radio b/c of how detailed his broadcasts usually are. He's one of the best CBS has come tourney time.

Seriously, what fucking cockjacks prevented UConn from being the unanimous #1 by voting for Memphis? Are you fucking serious? It doesn't matter but a Big East team with 2 losses (1 against the same team that beat Memphis and the other against the previous #1 in the country) not ahead of a CUSA team with 3 losses.

The Wral & 99.9 folks releaed their choices for All-ACC. As expected, no wolfpack. Maybes we'll have one make it next year (Smith?).

most coaches feel the exact same way when they go to Cameron and have to take on not just Duke but the refs as well.

WTF refs? Toney Douglas just got mauled after grabbing his own rebound, no call, ball ends up in Duke's possesion. They come down and get a foul. Henderson hits both to put them up by 3. Leonard Hamilton was visibly frustrated.

Now FSU had to try to get a 3, Henderson gets the rebound on a fast break converts and gets and and-1 opportunity. He hits the free throw to push the lead out to 6 with 30 seconds. I don't want to say that the game came down to that play, b/c who knows what would have happened, but it did tremendously help Duke.

Also foul count at this point in the second half.
FSU - 9
Duke - 4

I was coming here to post the same shit....Duke gets another bullshit bailout by the refs with that no call

then of course, dook goes and pulls a hansboro and draws a foul on the other end (flailing arms like a retard when the shot gets blocked)

^^ you can argue that FSU wouldn't have had to look for quick 3s if the foul was called when Douglas got mauled.

Interesting that two of the three below us in the preseason poll have a great chance to make the NCAAT. We are SLIGHTLY under-performing given what the media predicted, but about where I saw us.

If GT holds it together, Miami's bout to lose so we can make a move to pass them in the standings on Saturday.

we definitely do not want to do that....

#10 seed means the late game and being in Duke's side of the bracket instead of UNC.

I think I'd rather beat Miami now.

if miami wins, and we beat them... we would still finish lower in the standings right? we'd both be 7-9, split head to head, but they have a better record against WFU which is where the tiebreaker would fall to right?

We beat Miami in OT in Raleigh this year. We can outright own the tiebreaker against them if we beat them on Saturday.

Does it go on to mention how there is only 1 other team in the Pomeroy Top 50 in that conference?

If UNC or UConn or UCLA played in the SWAC they'd probably never lose a game either.

http://www.freep.com/article/20090305/BLOG14/90305063/1054/SPORTS06/U-M+gets+bubble+boost+from+its+competition

chuckle, so this article on michigan getting a bubble boost thanks to BC losing to not-so-good nc state

Quote :
"Maybe Michigan’s decade of bad luck is finally waning. Not only have the Wolverines enjoyed their rest this week without a game, they must be thrilled watching the rest of the country play.

For two consecutive nights, it has been bubble carnage as U-M’s competition for the final few at-large spots continues to drop chances.

On Tuesday, Kansas State lost to Oklahoma State and Maryland lost to Wake Forest. On Wednesday, Boston College fell to mediocre N.C. State, Virginia Tech couldn’t make the last push against North Carolina, Kentucky lost to terrible Georgia and Florida lost to average Mississippi State.
"

what do they know
