For the wizard just go int/damage/vit to level and then start stacking resist for inferno ?

Oh, I remember the issue with gearing a Monk now. The main stat you want is Dex. Then you want a good deal of All Resist for survivability (with your other resist stacked). Add in some Vit for life. And of course you'll want some IAS and crit stats.

Put this all together and what do you get? A Demon Hunter's gear that requires an extra resist stat, more vit, and more armor. You're basically fighting for the same gear from the FotM class. . . except what would be bare minimum gear for a Monk would be an exquisite piece for a DH.

Sure, there will be a few differences in itemization (and the weapons are different and rings/ammy might only share 1/2 the stats), but gearing will still be an uphill battle.

^^
Its very important to get the slowest weapon possible if you are using the damage estimate number (not sure what the actual name of it is) your weapons attack speed is what your spell casting rate is based on so a weapon with damage of 2 and attack rate of 1 does the same damage is a weapon with damage 1 and attack rate of 2. HOWEVER, the second weapon will use twice as much mana. So get a slow weapon and get attack speed boost from other items since this will still increase your cast speed and give you maximum damage from your weapon.

Hope that made sense

Hardly any DH is going for resist gear right now. Almost all of them are going for glass cannon builds/gear. I would also hardly call DH the FotM. My entire friends list is nothing but wizards anymore.

I dunno. When I started Act 3 a few nights ago, all Siegebreaker runs looked the same. Two DHs and me. Three DHs and me. Oh! Two DH, a wizard, and me. Oh look, a barb joined! Oops, he left after getting sick of all the kiting and . . . replaced by a DH.

I've actually seen a 50/50 mix of DH itemization. Half seem to go glass cannon and the other half get just enough to live through one hit. Next patch we should see a shift to more survivability, though, with the high repair cost and softening of the monster damage (aka making resist more valuable).

^^haha, I tried that for like 2 days. Let me tell you, it was exceptionally terrible. My monk friend convinced me it was the way to go, but I just can't describe how bad the experience is.
I've gone back to solo games since then. I can solo siege currently, though I wonder how short the enrage will be next patch.

^Don't mock the lvl 58 legendaries! I found a fairly decent Andariel's Visage that was lvl 58 with good dex and AR.

Everyone's freakin out about the new enrages, but don't seem to remember that they're nerfing the content too

I think Inferno Act 2+ will be disappointingly easy for those of us already used to the insanity

^that would be the smart thing to do.

why change both at once? make one change, see how it goes. Being able to farm act 1 to make act 2 doable is exactly what they need. fixing the drops seems like it would be enough...

So my buddy is letting me use his inferno level 650dps life steal dagger that rolled a minus 16 level requirement. This thing would probably be a decent upgrade for most people when they hit level 60 and I started using it at level 44. To put into perspective, when I hit level 51 with the monk and went to get new gear from the AH, the best available dps level 51 weapon was like 150 dps(needed for off hand).

So now I'm just running act 3 hell to ding 60 fast and doing some publics. People get pissed when they see a lvl 50-51 join their group thinking they are going to have to carry me. Then they realize I have 10k+ dps as a lvl 50 monk. The thing has made leveling up so much faster.

I'll be hitting 60 soon and I'll let everyone know what is worse, the WD or the Monk. I should have just picked a DH/Wiz.

^^^ yeah the reduced lev requirement is an underrated affix, im using a minus 10 level requirement belt at level 50 with 50+ resists 400 armor and all the stat buffs.. easily better than any of the level 50 belts on the AH for my level

Andariel's Visage dropped for me last night on a butcher run.

INT + IAS + Socket = millions

Side Note - Anyone else still experiencing the "3 Day Wait Period for RMAH on Digitial Copy of Diablo 3" message, well after the 3 days?

i dont know how you guize are getting items to sell.. i am still having trouble in the RMAH. and its not like im putting up garbage gear either.

for instance, i threw up multiple items (lev 50-56) with 45-55 resist all, like 30+vit/dex 80+int/str and then a random GF or MF or crit whatever. in doing a search, no similar items are more than 40+ resist with just a couple of those affixs. put the buyout price at 20$ - 30$, did not get a single bid through like 6 hours last i checked...

am i just overvaluing my gear or do i need to set the buyout low as hell or what? pisses me off when i go through the AH and there's dramatically worse gear with buyouts higher than mine that are getting bids.

A lot of people don't want to spend real money on gear that isn't level 60. Even if good they feel it isn't end game and why spend real money on gear that you are looking to replace quickly.

Also a lot will use min lvl 60 to filter out trash.

Lastly, just because gear is listed for similar prices or even more doesnt mean the gear is actually selling. People having trouble selling most likely think what they are selling is more desirable than actually is. Pay more attention to the timers on items. If there is a similar item about to expire and you price your item a dollar less it doesn't mean you priced it right.

I think I'm up to about $400 sold now. Rings sell well.

All my rings went from 12 to 5%.

Not sure how you can say that isn't that bad, it is over a 50% reduction. The severity just depends on how much you were using AS. If you just had an item or two with a fast weapon probably not a big deal. If you have 5 items with it you'll notice it.

Colors are much sharper in-game.

lost 12% attack speed due to my ring, gloves and weapon. Fine, Whatever, S my D Blizzard

They didn't touch quivers though. Attack speed is still increased by 11% on my DH.

I am not, however, gaining any experience...at all. My experience bar is completely blank.

along with the aforementioned IAS modifications..

dumb changes imo

-Magic Find will no longer be considered when looting objects in the environment such as chests, barrels, vases, pots, and corpses
-Destructible objects no longer have a chance to drop items, and will only have a small chance to drop gold when destroyed
-Unique monsters in Hell and Inferno difficulty are no longer guaranteed to drop two Magic items when slain

...so what is the point of the destructible objects then? if i only have a 1% chance to get gold/items from destructible stuff im just not going to waste my time?

good changes

-When comparing a two-handed weapon against two currently-equipped one-handed weapons, the game will now simulate the removal of both one-handed weapons
-Damage Over Time (DoT) skills will now properly benefit from items with the +Critical Chance affix
-The gold and material cost to combine gems ranks 2-8 has been reduced [dramatically too]

just the ones that stood out to me through a quick glance at the changes

looks like they broke more than they fixed with this patch...

-Like me, most people are complaining that they aren't gaining any experience, or that their characters have been reset to level 13.

-Health Globes are invisible for lots of players.

-Blue/Yellow monsters are not dropping any loot, some not even dropping gold.

Just to clarify, GOLD monsters are UNIQUE.

BLUE monster are CHAMPIONS (NOT unique) and still probably have gauranteed chance to drop Magic items.

Yep, GOLD monsdter have a Unique NAME you will only see ONCE during your game, unless you restart the game.

Same as in D2.

Also, this is excellent ..

At first I hated this, then I realized it benefited botters and farmers so much more than I could ever take advantage of this and those people are the ones that hurt the in game economy and are making everything 10+ mil in gold. They needed to curb the influx of gold into the game big time, and that will make a nice dent.

The nerfs have added up to be pretty significant, because I was having a really tough time with the Heart of Sin towers in Act 3 before the patch, but tonight I mostly facerolled them. Still died a handful of times on packs with tough affixes but never had to restart to avoid anything. It's a welcome change for the soul lashers, because those seemed excessively hard previously, but the rest of it seemed a lot easier than I was expecting or hoping for. I was enjoying the challenge before, but at least it doesn't look like I'll have to shell out for big-time life on hit and attack speed items after all.

After putting some time in yesterday to clear most of Act 2, I really like the patch so far. The drops are noticeably better without being a huge increase. The content is easier to get through while still being challenging. Popped into Act 3 and felt like there was a tangible step up in difficulty from Act 2. Like the gold farming/botting nerfs.

Overall, very very happy with the patch.
