after a couple weeks away from the sideways world they once again had two characters looking into a mirror at themselves, this time with claire and jack. But this time it was also the most obvious, in your face, "hey we are looking into the mirror" as before jin, sun, sawyer, etc. their moments in the mirror were more subtle. I still have to believe that this has a deeper meaning behind it.

I suppose it all depends on whether or not your believe anyone is going to make it off the island alive. If you do, the plane is pretty much the only remaining way out and Lapidus is the only one who could (can) fly it. That's been his only purpose on the show since he was first introduced: the pilot. I mean, him surviving the sub is no less plausible than Jin surviving the Season 4 finale.

Now if you think it's pretty much settled that everyone left is either going to die or be stuck on the island forever, than yeah, he's dead.

just got finished watching last episode, i really liked it. Jack finally came back around to being the Jack of the first couple seasons, not the back seat pussy he has been the last couple. i was happy to see Sun die, never really liked her, but sad about Jin, and Lapidus (but i'm not 100% convinced he is dead, i think me may be the new Mikhail and nothing can stop him)

Is anyone else really bothered by last night's episode? The entire submarine sequence seemed extremely sloppy to me. I feel like the writers are just trying to cover their asses.

Less than 5 minutes away from the dock and it'll take 5 minutes to reach the surface? What a bunch of crap. Besides the fact that there'd be no reason for them to dive that deep, pretty much any modern submarine would be equipped with the ability to emergency surface. And even if the submarine doesn't have the feature for some reason, they could have jettisoned the bomb the same way they dispose of trash from the sub.

The other point that really bothered me was Jin trying to rescue Sun. His attempts to free the steel beam wedged against her were pretty half hearted. Pulling on it with his arms? The beam was a few feet from the wall. How about you put your legs against the wall, hold the beam with your hands, and deadlift the beam off of your wife? Instead he's tugging on it with his hands with a force of probably less than 200lbs. Brilliant.

During one of the time-traveling flashes last season, Juliet, Sawyer and co. were on one of the outriggers they found on the beach. There was a flash and another outrigger with folks unknown appeared behind them and started shooting; Juliet popped one of them.

They've been sort of teasing us all season with all the boats and shuttling between the two islands. I figure it has to be at least somewhat significant.
