Doing the wave was ok while it was done during the timeout, but as soon as the offense got back in the huddle, it should have stopped. It also didn't help that people would shout as they did the wave. 9/4/2009 8:32:08 PM |

Man, sports talk radio in atl and Knoxville are ripping into state bad. And south Carolina at the same time, shit like " south Carolina looked like a joke against a horrible nc state team" and "if sc only scored 7 on state what are they going to do agianst the sec". It's brutal. RW is getting it too 9/4/2009 9:12:47 PM |

you can't have a season like RW had and come out and do that.
just can't.
^^ what would you have had them do?

this offense knows how to move the ball. they've done it before. they'll make the necessary corrections and be competitive in the ACC. 9/4/2009 9:41:47 PM |

the only correction we're going to make is downgrading from an sec opponent to acc ones.
if that doesn't work we're probably fucked. 9/4/2009 9:55:20 PM |

seriously man
cut this shit out. with basketball its cool but come the fuck on man, we saw this almost exact same offense go postal at the end of the year. we're going to be fine. a slow first game and some unfortunate drops and you're going to act like we're going to be dogshit?
we're going to be just fine.
only correction my ass. do you not remember the last two second half season turnarounds we did? the first of which with daniel fucking evans at QB? So you're trying to say that the coaching staff can't correct our offensive problems we had on Thursday?

hey guy, read my posts please.
i'm not saying we're dogshit at all. i'm actually saying basically the opposite. i'm saying that our guys are not fast enough or good enough to play against an experienced sec defense. that is just a fact that, after last night, cannot be argued.
unless you meant a "what if nc state played in the sec" scenario, in which case we would undoubtedly be dogshit. 9/4/2009 10:07:11 PM |

This kind of talk is fucking ridiculous...we had WAY more miscues on offense than they did. And they only scored 7 points. If anything, we fix our miscues, we break a couple of big plays that could really change the game and lead to use putting up the 21 points-ish we thought we might score.9/5/2009 12:10:54 AM |

^I second that as bullshit.
Our team seemed like they had the ability to be good enough to play against them (especially in the 4th quarter, once the offense figured out what the fuck it was supposed to be doing), but instead they were playing too far below their potential and making a ton of mistakes. I'm not sure just how much of that falls on the playcalling, but I'm sure at least some of it does. 9/5/2009 1:43:12 AM |

i also 5th the horse-manure take on we can't play against an SEC defense. Dropped balls have nothing to do with an SEC defense. The play where everyone thinks SEC defenders tipped the ball against Jay Smith in the endzone, no, no tips, i think he anticipated it gettting tipped, which maybe caused the ball to hit him right in the biceps/numbers. RW overthrowing people the first game of the season, you know he's jacked up, nothing to do with an SEC defense. Which is why when they were asked in the post-game "SC's defense is so fast Russel, what say you? RW: yea they're fast but so are our guys." TOB said the same thing, he didn't buy into Tysiac's hyping up the SEC speed. 9/5/2009 11:37:01 AM |

We have a chance at beating USC in the NCAA Football 2010 Season Showdown We only need to win 3 out of 5 categories -- we will lose playing vs CPU and vs Nation -- we have a small edge in Allies/Rivals and vs Showdown Opponent -- we are within striking distance for Triva - only about 8K credits behind and it's not hard to get about 500 pts per person.
You will need to register a username, but we can win this if we have a small surge of players. right now, we only have about 30 different people actually doing trivia for NC state

Sure you can. You had the 40 yard pass to Spencer called back. A big 15 yard run by baker or Eugene called back for the facemask. You had the Jarvis bobble streaking down the sideline (don't really consider it a drop). You had the Jay Smith drop (arguably could have won the game). You have the George Bryan drop (would have been 1st and 10 on the 20ish?). And then of course the ball defended against Jarvis in the endzone on 4th down.
Alllll of these plays could have been game changing plays. If not game changing but momentum swinging plays. You saw how our offense could move the ball when it got in rhythm. Well all of these things also broke rhythm. Instead of 1st and 10 you have 1st and 20 from your own 10.
So I do think we can play against an "SEC defense." But if you want to look at it your way we can just say State can't compete against an SEC defense and south Carolina can't compete against an ACC defense. Their only points came off a 14 yard drive lol. Pretty sure we had a few 14 yard drives.9/5/2009 8:16:10 PM |

yeah, if he caught that touchdown through double coverage and the rest of the game had gone exactly as it did, it would've been a game changer.
but "we almost scored 10 points" is not indicative that our offense could hang in the sec. 9/6/2009 2:07:28 AM |

we lost by 4 points and had two throws into the end zone to take the lead with under 4 minutes left in the game
we were "right in this thing"
It wasnt pretty, and we were only in it because South Carolina licks ass too but at least we didnt get blown out by 40 (hi maryland) or lose to a FCS team (yet)

It is not ridiculous. The fact that the catches were in fact within reach was ridiculous, but there they were. They were in position, the passes were there, the only thing they didn't do was the easy part: catch the ball once it hits your hands.

I'd say it should've been 14-3.
that one dude dropped in the end zone flat out should've been caught. the one the dude bobbled running down the sideline, arguably, is a tough play if the ball jostles from your fingertips way out in front of you.
the 3 is for the 27-yard field goal USC missed. 9/6/2009 1:18:52 PM |
